I used to check autoblog all the time until their recent layout change got disgustingly Web 2.0. Pretty much same info we've been seeing everywhere; car is great, some turbo lag some of the time, rwd best but awd still great if you need awd. Although they say it's coming to USA in October, not December. Not sure if that's new info but it's the first I've heard assuming it's even true.

This was actually pretty well written. The facts and quotes seem more spot on. So this writer's "...October..." re-revelation may be closer to the truth.

Turbo lag questioned a little again, but is it? Some theories of my own or really just guesses ...
  • Noted they blasted their first lap in comfort mode, could this be the cause of some minor acceleration delays, in the programming of that mode. (i.e. lesser neck snapping required in this mode, please)
  • Also watched a recent G80 sport video review ... and can confirm the gearbox DOES down-shift rev match (another nice feature!). So can this also be another possible reason for throttle blips during auto-shift changes on hard acceleration.
  • All these guys were going hard as possible for their first time on the ring and driving the stinger, so this off-on acceleration along with some ill-timed manual paddle shifts surely could have played some part to this "lag" feeling.
  • Or there just is some pure turbo lag, however minor, it is still actually there.
Either way it sounds well and truly fast enough for me!
Great read though.
