I found these Stinger wiper insert part numbers online, but the shipping kills it:

98361 2B000: right insert
98351 1R000: left insert

Does anyone have experience purchasing wiper blade inserts from an auto store in order to keep the metal blade housing?
A long-time ago I used to get inserts for my cars but now it seems you have to buy the whole assembly.

Another annoyance is that most of the kia part stores online are just the same store under a different URL that have different prices and different shipping to make them "seem" different. Once you click into the site and place on order you can tell as the graphics are exactly the same on each site. I once ordered a part from Kia Parts Fast (for some reason it was cheaper with shipping than the other URLs) and they processed it and then cancelled it. I kept asking why they cancelled it and they wouldn't reply.

driver's side is 26", passenger 18". you can find inserts on amazon or auto parts stores. Me I just buy the blades from rockauto.

Going on five and a half years on the OEM wipers. When the time comes, I will replace them at the dealer. By then, I think I will have gotten my money's worth out of the originals.

Got mine off Ebay, 24.00 and free shipping.

I have not had to replace my wiper blades yet but I am fairly certain the Stinger uses the same exact wiper blades as Toyota/Lexus do from Nippon Wiper Blade.

You most likely can use the these Toyota/Lexus inserts below to fit the OEM blades that come with the Stinger. The advantage is most Toyota/Lexus dealerships always keep these refills in stock and it's easy to get them for 20-25 dollars. I've found most Hyundai/KIA dealerships just want to sell you the complete replacement blade instead of stocking refills as well.

Toyota/Lexus part numbers should be 85214-68020 650mm insert (26") and 85214-30400 450mm insert (18").

i tried doing the inserts once on another car, and wasn't worth the bullshit. i just spend a couple extra bucks more and get some beam-type wipers at the local parts store.

I usually do inserts, just because I prefer to keep the factory arms (both for looks, and because I don't like to throw away perfectly good parts). The Stinger seems to be tougher than most to find inserts.

I would stick with the oem arms for best windshield coverage. You're welcome to experiment, but such has been my experience.

WIth the G37, someone discovered they use the same OEM inserts as honda (MITSUBA). Turns out buying honda inserts for a g37 was successful.

Wiper Refills Important Fact - MyG37

Maybe something similar will work with the stinger.

kia.parts wants $10.36 to ship from AZ to chicago. ~$24 total.

Edit: See post #5.

Driver 98351 1R000
Passenger 98361 2B000

Off Ebay or KiaPartsNow. Last set I just got at the dealer though.

I found that wiping them off and cleaning the blades with WD40 helps a ton, before and after installing them.

^^Bad idea IMO. It's rubber.. Rubber dries out over time, unless you're replacing them every 6 months.

Possibly a fair point, I've had some Honda/Mazda OEM wiper refills sitting in the garage with no UV exposure and they've lasted many years without any degradation when installed. I feel like buying from dealers or online warehouses the same refills probably sit for a while too lol

Has anyone tried these, confirmed fit?

I tried this and unfortunately they do not quite fit. The length is correct but the width of the insert is too large for the blade. You can make the passenger one fit if you really try, but the driver side one is too large.

I went with buying the official inserts from KIA which worked fine.

I made the poor decision to try Rain-X from O'Reilly instead of make a trip to the dealer. Regretted it every time I use my wipers, except when there is plenty of water on the glass, then the Rain-X work fine. But the OEM blades work flawlessly with much less wet, and silently as well, the Rain-X vibrate if not swimming. I keep telling myself "just go replace them at KIA", but haven't done it yet.

Using the part numbers from the OP?

Sorry, I've had the car for 4 years, but rarely if ever use the wipers (rainx or equiv on the glass usually, and rarely drive in the rain/wet). Car is garage kept, with no sunlight on the hood area.

Last few times in the rain they didn't do as good a job as I remember.

@Snicklefritz I learned this lesson on the camaro (4th gen) which used these supersize blades - 24" on either side, about as big as the stinger driver side. No aftermarket blade performed as well as the OE.

Do you have any kind of coating/protection on your windshield? If not, you may want to try whatever you use as a wax/sealant. Plain old Turtle Wax should make a rag slide across noticeably more smoothly, and I would assume will help wiper blades glide along as well.

I also like those spray on / rinse off hydrophobic coatings (McKee's Hydro Graphene is the one I have experience with), which makes rain fly off the hood & windshield from about 40mph upward. I don't know that it'll specifically make your wipers chatter less like a hard wax will, but you may use your wipers so little it doesn't matter.

My dealer ordered the OEM replacement rubbers, $25ish CAD each.

I'm still on the fence with rain-x. I loved it when I had manual wipers. With auto wipers the sensor trips out and goes full speed too easily. Ended up using a clay bar and stripping the rest off last time and haven't put it on again. I also tried my regular sealant and I didnt like the defrost performance afterwards. My OEM wipers/rubbers have never chattered.
