Hi everybody how are you :)
Im new here Im from Montreal Canada. Sorry for my english...
Im early with this question but I want to know what brand of mag, not to expensive because its for the next winter, will fit to my Stinger GT.
is it bether to have 18 inches with bigger tire for the confort( will it fit the car) ?

Or maby its better to just put winter tire on the stock mag from KIA?

thanks
have a nice day everybody
Chris

I always have two sets of wheels and tires for cars I drive. One for summer and one for winter. My AWD GT2 came with 18" all-season tires (which actually work in the winter surprisingly well). This will be my winter setup. I'll replace the all-seasons with dedicated winter tires when they wear out. I'm currently deciding which wheels I want for my summer setup. They will likely be 19".

If you're happy with the 19" wheels that Kia supplied, then keep them as your summer set. For wheel and tire setups, you always want more sidewall. I recommend 18" wheels with dedicated winter tires.

I hope this helps!

Good Thats is what I was thinking go to 18 in winter

Thanks a lot...

I assume that tirerack.com is available for Canada. They're where I've done the majority of my wheel and tire business for decades. They will know what fits. Their site will help you very much. And their salespeople are great. And no, I'm not affiliated with Tire Rack in anyway. Good luck!

There are lots of threads here in the tire section here about winter tires, which of course are mandatory in Quebec during snow season. You can use the 'search' function to look them up.

18's are cheaper than 19's, have the same rolling diameter when fitted with the right tires, and the bigger sidewall is better suited to winter (vs. performance) driving. If you get a separate winter set make sure you get a 'winter finish' wheel without machined faces - the salt will eat those exposed surfaces up.

Here's one that I posted to, with information about the wheels and tires (18") I picked up for my winter set - as well as some alternatives. The price on the wheels I went with is very good, and the performance last winter with the Michelin XIce3 tires was excellent - many KIA dealers offer the same combination for the Stinger (at a substantially higher price). I went with a full set (wheels and tires) as I didn't want to be swapping tires on my stock wheels every spring and fall - and preferred a 'square' (4 equal tire sizes) set of winters vs. the staggered sizes of the stock rims.

Snowshoes

I keep the extra set on a tire rack bolted to the wall in my garage - that way I can change them over when I want to, without having to make an appointment during the busy 'rush season', and pay to have that done.

Good luck and happy hunting!

Personally, I bought Fast FC04 wheels (18 inches) for the winter, 8 inches width, 40 mm offset. You can also get them in 30 mm offset. I run on Nokian Hakkapellita 9 tires (studded), 225/45R18 on all wheels. I was very satisfied with this package last winter, like you should know there was a lot of snow in Montreal !

Tirerack.com : it's ok when the canadian dollar value versus the US dollar is high, but these days, it's not the case, it's not necessarily a good deal to buy from the US. Go to the local tire dealers first, get a quote and then compare with tirerack.com. You need to add shipping at tirerack.com, so it could get more expensive.
