Wind noise from driver side mirror

Hey guys just got my stinger two weeks ago and was wondering if anyone has run into this issue. When I get up to speed, say 40 or higher, I notice a very faint whistling noise coming from the driver side mirror. If I pull the mirrors in while at a steady speed it goes away or if I drive with the window down and put my hand in front of the point of the mirror it goes away. I think its coming from where the top of the mirror and the bottom half connect, but as anyone had this issue before?
Hey, Nontooth- I’m curious, your handle wouldn’t, by any chance, be variation on “Na-Toth” from Babylon 5? 1609265827087.webp

So I finally did get around to taking it in over this while it was in for the recall. The dealer looked it and then had to call kia to ask them about it. It now has to go back again for them to perform "testing" on it. Kia so far won't replace the mirror and would rather do whatever testing they think will fix it.
You've been living with a "whistle mirror" for over a year and a half!?

have any you been to the dealer about this issue and if there was a repair done by the dealer did it fix the whistling ?/?

It is called the Doppler Effect. Like stEGR said, cracking another window will alleviate it.

Have you ever had this taken car of at the dealer ???
That's a question I haven't seen answered yet (or it was a once-off and I don't remember, being too long ago).

The never-ending, answerless thread- Ripe for the unwatch!:thumbup:o_O

Actually, I’m going to take that last post back. Why? Because I was able to hear the wind noise exactly where the poster discribed. I actually recalled this post when the noise became discernible. Apparently, I had been blocking it out mentally. Seems like a design flaw, but doesn’t impact anything.

I have same problem had stinger for about a year. Ours is on the passenger side. We hear whistle noise after about 40 mph. It took me about 20 min to pin point. I twosome painters tape in hopes to cover the wind and stop the whistle. I put the tape around where the mirror mounts to the door and the whistle stopped. Assuming the rubber gasket or seal between the mirror and the door is not bad but maybe the mirror needs to be titen up. Guessing you will have to take the door panel off to tighten up mirror
