Hey guys just got my stinger two weeks ago and was wondering if anyone has run into this issue. When I get up to speed, say 40 or higher, I notice a very faint whistling noise coming from the driver side mirror. If I pull the mirrors in while at a steady speed it goes away or if I drive with the window down and put my hand in front of the point of the mirror it goes away. I think its coming from where the top of the mirror and the bottom half connect, but as anyone had this issue before?

Another first! You are unique! That is probably a fitment issue; what isn't fitted together right, I have no idea. And, you are "weird", because your ears are better than 99.99% of everybody else. :D

I'm sometimes appreciative that my misspent youth has left me with noticeable hearing loss.

...and welcome to the funny farm.

Hi, @zbc1969. That makes two now. What color/trim Stinger do you have? How long have you had it? Where do you live? (so many questions).

Welcome to the community. :)

Consider fitting intakes, ex. Injen are nice and noisy. Then you'll never hear it again.

One of the things I like most about this car is that it can be very quiet and under the radar when I'm not hooning around. I probably won't do an intake until I also do exhaust.

@P22Tyler just introduced himself yesterday, he's in Murray; two more SLC area members. Cool!

You've put a thousand on it in less than one week? :D

Same here. 2019 GT2 Ceramic Silver. Hope someone comes up with a fix before I do.

Intakes will only make a substantial noise when you're "up it". :)

New Camaros do this a lot. Most are fixed by tightening the mirror to the door.
Check for gaps around mount and reposition to close gap, if possible.
Great test is to apply tape to the mounting area. Noise gone? Bingo!

I have this issue as well. 2019 GT2 in Kansas City. Two of my coworkers bought GT2s at the same time and theirs don't seem to do it.

Welcome, Mad Matt. Whistling mirror syndrome. A rare affliction. Hopefully yours will be rectified easily and swiftly.

Mine does it too. Very annoying.

Also wonder if this happens to anyone else - driving 40 mph+ with all windows closed and the passenger window all the way down it creates a very loud whop whop whop sound and the cabin pressure is intense enough to cause my ears to pop. Does not happen with drivers window down and others up. Have not tried back windows. Anyone else? Or any idea why this might be happening?

That’s due to air pressure build up. Try opening an additional window even just a small crack to help equalize. Happens in a lot of cars depending how you have the windows open.

Here’s one article:
Road trip science: Why the car's open rear window hurts your ears

Mine went away after using electric tape to plug the gap where the mirror folds. Obviously not a perm fix but that seems to be where its coming from. Maybe different gap tolerances in manufacture explains why some have it and some don’t.
