Hey folks, I'm super easily annoyed by wind or random noises in my car. I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with a few different ideas:

Door seals- I ordered Sonax Gummipfleger to condition my seals and lubricate them. I'm also considering Winekeeper Silicone Noise Suppression Molding Kit (from Shark Racing, can't post links yet sorry) - Has anyone used this before? It says I need to pull away the factory molding to install it and I'd be scared it'd be difficult to reinstall.

Door trim creaking - I'm planning on following another popular post and removing the door trim and adding hockey tape to the contact points to dampen the vibrations.

Sound Deadening - The door panels of a Stinger seem fairly easy to remove. I have experience sound deadening other cars, so I may just spend a hundred bucks or so on some sound deadening material and apply that to the doors as well.

Anyone have any experience with these 3 solutions, and how have they worked? Thanks!

I can't speak to the first two but some MLV (Mass Loaded Vinyl) and sound deadening (I use Noico) is pretty effective. The folks at diyma.com have tons of info about it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one hearing all this wind noise and how the car sounds like an aircraft with a cracked window lmfao :p

I've heard applying lubricant to the window seals fixes this. I have a Sonax rubber conditioner I'm going to use and use Sil-Glyde for the lubricant. Hopefully those two together fix the wind noise, if they don't I might try out that windkeeper

I've been considering using GP STFU deadening material, which basically has all 3 sound deadening materials in one to cut down on install time and cost. I might just do the doors and trunk and see how it does, plus I'm sure it'd improve midbass response in the car as well.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
The doors are a bit of a pain unless you’re willing to remove the door glass. I just pulled the speakers and stuck my hand in as far as I could with noico and closed cell foam. I got better results from doing as much of the floor, rear seat, trunk, and roof area as possible with the noico, CCF, and mlv on top. It’s not a tomb, but it’s an improvement. Wind noise I haven’t had issues with.

That's exactly what I did on my last car too, and it made a big difference in sound quality and road noise. How hard was it to remove the carpet for the floor, and how hard was it to remove the rear seats? I'd definitely like to treat at least the area around the wheel wells.

hokey dokey! :thumbup::thumbup:

For me the biggest difference was treating the doors.

Next best is a toss-up between wheelwells (high freq tire whine) and hatch (exhaust).

The floor was a waste of time and money.

Awesome build! I'll probably just do the doors then. Did you notice any significant difference in performance or handling with all the extra weight?

The car is probably a little slower now, but doesn't handle any different.

I'd estimate I've added about 130-140lb including the subwoofer & box.

Funny enough, my sub box/amps/sub in the trunk of my mustang actually dramatically helped performance by giving more weight on the rear axle and balancing out the front heavy car. I took it to the track and it out-handled almost every other stock mustang there! I know the stinger is way better balanced though so I doubt it'd make as big of a difference.

Thanks for all the help!
