Hey All,

I was checking online and a lot of news sites are speculating that Stinger will be discontinued after the 2021 refresh.

What are your thoughts? will it discontinue? if so what happens if there are problems with the car will we geet car parts?

We're good for a while. How many years? At least TEN from the last vehicle that rolls off the assembly line. That ten year warranty, you see. Kia has to maintain parts backup or get sued to oblivion.

All these rumor mongers have is their self contained dialogue; rather like the animals and Chicken Little. The more they bleat and bloviate, the more they believe their own echo chamber.

I don’t think they’re gonna discontinue it because it’s selling more than some other Kia models so they should be thinking about discontinuing those before the Stinger.

I would love to see a generation 2 but sedans are on their last lives. People want their SUV's and Trucks. I would like to see a performance hybrid or ev Stinger down the line.

We've been hearing this for years on years; long before the Stinger concept resulted in production. The "sedan" is a type of vehicle that appeals to enthusiasts of DRIVING. Making a high performance sedan, a Gran Turismo, was a coup by Kia: they included so much for the price point that it literally "stung" the market into an ongoing response. If anything, the Stinger has stimulated rethinking everywhere: what is driving for? Pleasure, practicality, satisfaction, FUN. This car is all of those things in spades.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
The thing is, I just booked my Stinger and I really enjoyed the test drive and it'll be my first car ever. Reading the news I felt a bit down cause it's such a great car, drives well, looks fantastic and the interiors are top class and was reconsidering should I not get this. Hence, wanted to know opinion from other Stinger owners. I am based out of Toronto.

Who cares if they discontinue it? It's not going to impact your warranty. Given that the 2021 refresh is virtually guaranteed at this point, it'll probably be around another 3-4 years at least. Some OEM parts get discontinued after a model is cancelled, sure, but this isn't like buying a Saab 9-5 NG where the entire supply chain was disrupted and it had lots of unique parts. Mechanically, the Stinger is largely parts binned with the K900 and Genesis models.

Speaking of the K900, as long as they still make that model, which literally nobody buys, I wouldn't worry about the future of the Stinger.
