What mode do you generally use?

I am not one to tell everybody what works best for them. However, I can say how some of the modes work.

The nifty “Coasting” mode that disengages the engine and transmission only works in “Smart” or “ECO” modes and it is disabled by default. You have to enable the “Coast” feature for it to work in either of those modes.

Comfort and ECO modes are the only ones that will “remember” what mode you were in last and retain that setting each time you start the car.

If you want to utilize the coasting feature which saves gas when utilized properly then ECO mode is the only mode that enables it every single time without changing any settings.

My own personal preference is to always leave it in ECO mode so that I can utilize the coasting mode and still get reasonably responsive yet comfortable performance.

When I need more performance I can just quickly click the dial twice to the right to get Sport mode. Once I am done accelerating I immediately go back to ECO mode because I feel Sport mode is too twitchy for my tastes when just driving around town.

I would prefer to use “Smart” mode over ECO mode but it doesn’t remember that mode each time you turn the car off and then on again.

Comfort mode doesn’t enable the coasting feature so I never use it.

I set my custom mode to mimic sport mode so that if I accidentally click 3 times to the right I will still have the same performance.

Does changing mode vary the suspension response at all? I thought it would need something like Delphi’s Magnetic ride control to vary the suspension dynamically? Is the suspension fixed in the Stinger?

If your vehicle has it ("Electronically Controlled Suspension" on your window sticker), it stiffens up when put into Sport mode, or if you have suspension set to firm in Custom.

When I'm dropping my kids off or just taking it easy I will go around in smart mode. Other than that I am in sport or custom. Custom in winter is sport engine, everything else comfort for the crappier weather days. In summer custom becomes engine, steering in comfort, AWD and suspension in sport.

I may be the odd one out here, but i drive mostly in ECO. If I need extra power or responsiveness, I will switch it to sport when needed.
If i'm in the city traffic between 8-12 or 15-19 I am very very often driving in eco. The traffic is so slow that I dont mind the sluggishness and I've noticed that it changes about 750pm earlier (changes at about 2k rather than 2500-2750) and that amounts to a small gain in fuel mileage also.
If I am driving outside of slow traffic hours I will switch to sport and paddles to keep it fun.

Custom mode with engine/steering in sport and suspension in comfort. Whenever I forget to put it back in Custom mode after starting it up again, it feels restrained in the default comfort mode. I end up always leaving it in custom mode.

Very same with me. I've been driving it this way for long enough now, that switching it to Custom is simply a part of my start up procedure: Get in, start the car, switch to Custom, buckle seat belt & drive away. In winter, I add "turn on heated steering wheel & heated seat" into the sequence immediately before "switch to Custom"....

My stinger is a daily driver, 1.5+ hours in the car every day. I'm still trying out each mode to see what I like, but currently i like the extra responsiveness of sport more than i care about 2 mpg. Now on the 250 mile mini road trip i did for the holidays, comfort and cruise control was wonderful. I haven't noticed an appreciable difference between comfort and eco, since the coast feature never engaged while cruise control was active.

I don't have a heated steering wheel :( but we don't get the cold weather like you guys and usually this time of year I would switch the ventilated seats on in my start up sequence.

Eco on the highway and Sport in the city.
