Saw this a wally world and thought it might be a good choice since it has LSD additive already in it.

Thoughts?

Good stuff, Amsoil makes an equivalent that I just used. Either will be good, I found the factory stuff less than adequate.

Did you run the Amsoil Slip lock LSD additive product also?

I've used the redline stuff before with pretty good results, both in the MT and rear ends. On this car, they say the transfer case is sealed, but don't believe that. Just like sealed trans's.

Amsoil recommends the LSD additive but the AWD cars like mine are W/O LSD

as far as additives go, I put tribotex into all my oils as a test. The conditions haven't exactly been perfect for them but I guess if they didn't show any damage with harsh conditions then they should be safe under normal conditions. Lets see.... LSD additive: added along with my BMS diff brace, couple of months later the diff brace snapped one of the diff cover bolts and my diff oil started leaking. Had to drill out the broken bolt stuck in the LSD. Attributed the snapped bolt to poor bolt design and the BMS brace being misaligned due to a designed flaw with the subframe bracket. BMS did send me new bolts, and if you have the old bolts I STRONGLY recommend getting the new ones. LSD still functioned great, and man i did abuse the snot out of it since i didn't know it was leaking.... oooof. But wait, there's more. I replaced the transmission oil cooler more than a year ago since it was damaged. i thought it was an engine oil cooler so i didn't think much about the lost fluid. It wasn't and i have been driving around with 3 quarts missing from my transmission for over a year. only recently when I installed my BMS trans cooler that I realized my screw up. Filled the trans with oem fluid and transmission feels a lot better. Did an oil analysis and test came back good, the additive didn't mess anything up. Now for the engine, added the additive a while ago same with all the others. Recently my drive belt came off while drifting, the engine overheated and blew coolant everywhere. The oil was black but didn't show any signs of coolant leaks. Changed the oil and refilled the coolant, so far so good. Gotta send out the oil for a test.

Hows the car doing? Still good to go?

Does H/K distribute the 0w30 wngine oil?
It's quite interesting, viscosity of a 20 cold and 30 when hot.

I have no idea, my dealer uses Castrol.

Every oil-manufacturer report I've read always dissuades adding additional additives to their oil package as it will upset the formulation and cause problems which are not readily apparent. One of the biggest offenders are people adding zinc to their engine's oil.

Their recommendation is to buy the proper oil in the first place and run it as is for best results. They are the experts and actually understand the chemistry involved.

The Mega Turbo SYN is Hyundai/Kia/Genesis propriety blended 0w30 oil which is recommended for the Stinger.

I haven't found it distributed anywhere in Australia.

I think it's important to find a suitable non-OEM oil for these diffs. I've heard ridiculous prices for the genuine oil and paying that every time the diff needs an oil change is unacceptable (particularly once these are out of warranty).
