The way the stereotypical old person drives a C8, the car is quite literally asleep using cylinder de-activation.

I nearly joined the cited Stinger drivers club a couple of days ago. On the Bungler Hwy, coming up out of an underpass, I moved to pass several cars on my right (I'm in the middle lane), so that I wouldn't have to queue up behind them for the exit: I noticed that they were slowing down, and that's when I saw the two motorcycle cops in the median with a radar gun pointed straight down the road on my left. Whew! I hadn't increased speed dramatically, it was only a "utility" increase to get in front (in other words, I was not "passing fast" on this occasion), and the cop with the radar was giving me a pass. At the exit were two more motorcycle cops with someone pulled over, so, West Jordan police were out in force gathering revenue. I must be more cautious.
