I have an issue where my leg rubbing up against the silver trim has caused the silver paint to peel off. I was wondering if there was a way to remove it so that I could sand it down and either repaint it or wrap it.

I tried looking up a guide to remove this part but couldn't find one. I've highlighted the part in question in the picture.

you wear shorts Ima guessing. skin oils do that over time. I bet a wrap would 99% hide it.

I know in my case being 6'8 doesn't help the cause. Mine doesn't bother me enough yet to do anything

Yep you guessed right! I think a wrap would hide it well, but I think it wouldn't look smooth without removing or sanding down the paint. I might be wrong though!

My wife does often when she gets in and out of the car.
How tall is you wife?? Or is it because shes really excited to see the road and sits kinda close?

it's not going to be easy.
That part is heat welded (plastic) to the outboard side of the door card. I would be shocked if you can buy that part separately from the whole panel.

I suppose you could drill the welds, then reattach it using coarse screws and fender washers.
