For starters id like to state this is not a picture that I took but numbers were extremely similar on a GT1 during my visit.

Stopped in for a visit and started talking numbers on a GT1. I walked out the door within 5 minutes when they wouldn't even go near MSRP. Instead they are marking up a GT1 to $58,590 with a payment of over 1k!!!!! More power to them if schmucks are paying this but not this guy!

I leased a GT2 yesterday, MSRP $52,410. Price of car was $49,343.69, $649 a month for 36 mos @ 12,000 miles. First payment was $896.50 ($649 + $247.50 registration fees), $649 thereafter. Yeah, that looks like price gouging for sure.

Wow, and thats a GT1! What are they selling GT2s for? $70k?

We have some members here saying that $600 lease payments are too high. Would love to have them chime in here ;)

That’s just crazy! I hope someone called KIA to mention that this is happening.

What exactly do you tell them? Their car dealers are trying to turn a profit? Pretty sure that's why they're in business, no?

Word is that Kia is not exactly a fan of dealers marking these up (although I'm sure they have the ability to force them to stop if it was THAT important to them). Would make sense from a corporate marketing point of view to get this car on the streets as fast as possible and at the bargain price that Kia is advertising this car as.

Let's be honest, if Kia wanted them in the streets (I agree with your thinking 100%) they'd come off their ridiculous money factor. As for the obvious price gouging going on you can always try another dealer, right?

That was my thinking but unfortunately it seems as though the only 2 Kia stealerships (Casa Kia and Viva Kia in El Paso) in the city seem to linking up. Both sites have markups of $10k or more.

Here in NYC we have a word for that: "schmucks."

Thank you for the report, @davidg545. Much appreciated... Don't give up!

Who knows, but Kia makes it clear on every Stinger program email they send us that dealers can price the Stingers however they want.

Looking forward to a few months down the road when markup is gone everywhere. Hopefully it won't be too long.
