Thanks to @app_master for sharing this news in another thread. I think it's newsworthy enough to create a separate topic. It's been confirmed that the Kia Stinger gets it's own special branding domestically in South Korea - but we get the standard badge here in American - and I believe everywhere else. As @ballistic pointed out - "cost" has been noted as the reason. I do find that --- interesting...

In any event, here are a few articles to read to keep informed:

- Kia to launch Stinger sports sedan in May, with independent badge
In the domestic market, the high-performance car will be the carmaker's first sedan which will carry an independent Stinger badge without the KIA logo, a company spokesman said.

- Kia’s Stinger rolls out in Korea in May bearing independent emblem
South Korea’s second largest automaker Kia Motors Corp. in May will release high-performance sedan Stinger whose name will be commonly used at home and internationally but in Korea bear a specially-designed emblem, the company said on Monday. The automaker will showcase a special badge for the Stinger at the upcoming Seoul Motor Show to be held on Mar. 31 and release the car in showrooms from May.

- Kia to launch new Stinger in May
Kia Motors also plans to equip the Stinger model with its own special logo. However, it added that the new emblem will only be featured on domestic vehicles, while, for cost reasons, overseas exports will have the standard Kia logo. The company, however, said that the Kia brand is well-known in the overseas market.

No problem, happy to share things I find on here.

I guess we'll see this new "stinger emblem" in a few days.

The "cost" that is being referred to I think is a broader term for aggregation of associated cost that even a partial rebranding would pose internationally. Further to this that "cost" may include perceived dilution to their brand image (yes they do have a positive one now), that has made massive strides in the past decade but is still being built on.

On the flip side, a lot of people would likely order alternate badges (if it's good? and I imagine it will be) for their stinger for little extra $. Perhaps it will be a option?

So the new badge is a..."E"??? I don't get it. What does it stand for?

Now "Stinger" as the rear logo is AWESOME. I love that! Are we getting that here in America or the KIA badge front and back? If the Stinger logo is on the back and the KIA logo is on the front I may just debadge on the hood. If there are holes left then I'll buy that newer looking K badge that I see here and there.

Oh and I LOVE that yellow. I think that's not my favorite color for the Stinger.

I think you mean NOW instead of not. And yes that yellow is wow for sure. I think this car will look good in all it's colours.

Emblem meaning...(translated?)

"Engineered by Excellence" of the core themes
Exclusive (for a select few), Exquisite (sophisticated and sensitive),
Evolutionary meaning of (constantly evolving) put the presents on the direction of the new premium lineup of the KIA.

@app_master you're so fast!! Thanks again for being on top of everything. I actually like the new E better vs the Kia badge. It like that it takes up less space. I also like that Stinger is much larger on the back of the car too, but I'd probably not like it after a while lol. Less is more and this car has a bit more bling, than I am accustomed to so anything smaller (insert joke) is a win in my book.

I also like the new emblem. And I think I prefer it on the back instead of the Stinger emblem. I also like that yellow. Where's that vote we had before? We need to add yellow.

I know I already posted this in another discussion but I do like the new badge. I'm not sure how I feel about spelling out Stinger on the rear hatch but I need to see a better picture before I decide. I bet a lot of people are going to be importing these new badges into America.

eh i'm on the fence right now. i don't know how i feel about it yet. either way i think i'll be replacing the badge with the kia 3.0 logo. i really like that design and think it fits the stinger perfectly.

I kinda dig it. Not sure if I'm sold on it though.

I'm being critical, but the badge could have said on the outer ring "STINGER" along top and "BY KIA" at the bottom. Just thoughts. All good though.

I don't have a problem with the stylized "stinger" on the rear, but I feel like it's a "one or the other, not both" situation.

If you mean internationally they should adopt a singular styling. I agree. It would make the whole deal a little more authentic and original.

I mean the stylized Stinger plus the other badges/emblems is a bit much for me.
