TSW Nurburgring wheels (18")

I have the same wheels and size. How do you feel difference between this wheels and the oem wheels ?

The ride is certainly more comfortable. Potholes are dealt with better. Haven't torn a tire yet!

You don't need to lower it. I think the clearance is more important than a bit of added aesthetic/conceit. :P

So, you had 19" OE rims before?

Yeah, it's a GT2 RWD, so the stock staggered 19" setup previously.

Hi @oddball love the way this looks! Just curious how you've liked this setup. I'm also thinking of going with the same thing in terms of 245/45/18+275/40/18, as I like the look and (hopefully) comfort of having lots of sidewall.
  • I notice that this adds 2.3% to the original diameter. Have there been any issues with that? Any affect on the stability control, adaptive cruise control, LKAS, transmission, etc? I've never swapped out wheels before so I'm new to it all. I don't mind a speedo error, but was concerned about other unintended side effects.
  • Was there a big difference in comfort? Specifically, I'm hoping to eliminate impact harshness over bumps and expansion joints, which I find bothersome particularly at low speeds.
I'm on a 100% stock RWD GT2 w/ 19" wheels right now FWIW.

Thanks!

The electronics don't notice at all. As long as the front to rear ratio remains the same then you're fine. In general, the systems are much better now at dealing with minor changes. Unlike my buddy's 99 Lincoln. It fires the ABS on the highway if one of the tires is worn down too much! 2.3% change in speedo reading is extremely hard to tell. Speedos aren't *that* accurate anyway.
If you're really worried about that, then look at the tire manufacturer's specs for the rolling height of the tire. There's a ""spec"" height for the size, but that's not the same as the *effective* height of the tire as it rolls while loaded. I think the spec numbers for my nitto tires were identical to the PS4.

I think it's a softer ride. Main thing is I broke three sidewalls on the 19" Pilot Sports in one year, yet haven't broken any of these Nitto tires in the past year. No loss of cornering performance that I can tell (all street driven).

I totally missed the notification of your response. Thanks so much! Pretty sure I will go with this diameter for sidewall. Now just trying to decide if I should just go square at 245 since I don't really drive the card that hard.

245/45r18 on all 4 corners, comfort/longevity/looks!
