Does anyone know if the luggage cover (Part Number 85910-J5000) will fit in a 2021 GT1? Also, when purchasing is this the only item I would need to purchase to install or are there other things i have to purchase in order for it to be installed? I would imagine it just pops in but i want to make sure before purchasing.

Thanks in advance!

Says it fits a '21. The cover appears to come with the ropes on either side. I would reach out to the dealer with you vin. Parts should be able to tell you the exact p/n you need.

What happened to yours?

i actually didnt get one when i purchased the car but i want one to eliminate the amount of dust build up on my rear head rests. the cheapest one i could find was on KiaPartsFast.com and like you mentioned, the website says it fits my year. I am going to give them a call tomorrow and have them confirm that it fits my VIN. Normally you enter your VIN # at checkout so they can make sure the parts you order actually fit but i forgot to do that. After looking on a few sites i am not worried that it doesn't fit. it seems this is a universal accessory add-on for all years

That's surprising. Probably too late now, but i'd be complaining to the dealer to provide one on their dime.

However, that cover has nothing to do with the rear headrests (unless yours are removed and stored in the hatch area).

It's not an accessory, it's part of the car and should have been there from delivery date (assuming you are the first owner).

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
You didn't get a hatch lid/cover? WTH? It absolutely comes with the car, it isn't some accessory. They are all the same: the configuration of the hatch is identical across all trims and model years.

no not the first owner. seeing how it only has 2k miles i would've imaged it came with it but idk not sure what happened. I did get the rubber fitted mat for the trunk but not that. I thought it was an accessory because i know a few other owners who did not get one and they are the first owners. Regardless, i already ordered one.

this was the cheapest price i could find for anyone looking for one.

Okay good to know. I already ordered one but now that i know it comes with the car ill cancel my order and get the dealership to buy it. I have to give my buddies a heads up because they are first time owners and still didn't receive one.

no the head rests are installed. I just noticed a little dust build up and figured having the hatch open contributed since its a dead shot straight to the back seat, nothing is blocking the dust/air coming in from the back when it's open. It has to be contributing a little i would imagine

This is the first and so far only case I've read of a Stinger coming without that hatch cover: in your case it could simply be missing and that's likely because the hinges broke. I had one side of mine break and had to epoxy it back on (forgot to slip the hinges out of the sockets before closing the hatch on a couple of ice chests, which are taller than the hinges). But you're saying you know "buddies" who also didn't receive the cover with their brand new Stingers!? How many? And are their cars '21 or '22? Maybe Kia stopped sending hatch covers out or simply got sloppy in the assembly details?

So i know two guys in my area with a '22 and a '21. I was mistaken about them both being first time owners, the 2021 was bought pre-owned so chances are the previous owner simply did not trade it in with the car. The 2022 though, not sure what happened there because he is the first owner and still didn't get one which seems odd after hearing all the responses on here. He is going to give his dealership a call.

In my case, i bought my preowned as well so the previous owner must've done something with it, lost it, broke it, forgot to include it, etc. who knows... I called my dealership and gave it a shot but because i bought pre-owned they cannot purchase one for me. Which is what i expected but it was worth a shot..

I checked my window sticker, just to be sure that "hatch cover" or some similar name wasn't included in the list of interior features/amenities/extras/conveniences, etc. Even the push button key fob was listed. Heh?! But no mention of a hatch cover/lid. This tells me that it is bog standard equipment with each and every car (that wasn't overlooked, of course).

oouuu thats a good idea! i didnt think to check the sticker! thanks for your help!

I think as you state earlier, all bets are off given it's a used car. I suppose it's one more thing to look for when buying second hand. Car could be missing that cover, spare tire (if the 3.3 came with one), toolkit, owner's manual, etc.

When we sold our accord to carmax, it came with the spare tire/tools but no manual. It's somewhere in the house but I have no idea where. Dad is unfortunately no longer around to tell me where he put it.

Maybe this part can be sourced on ebay?

I saw a few listings - 2018 - 2021 KIA STINGER OEM TRUNK CARGO AREA TOP COVER TRIM PANEL 85910J5000 | eBay . They're asking same price as new, so offer $130 or something. Also, chase/paypal has the 5% category going on this quarter so that can save you a few bucks.

If i weren't 600 miles away i would take you up on it. Just got mine in the mail a few days ago.

Even with the cover, my headrests and top of the back seat gets dusty.
i figured i would still see some dust build up as there is no completely escaping that unfortunately. Hoping it helps a little.
