Does anyone have any news on a possible tow hitch for the Stinger. I’m hoping to get one for bikes.

I’ve seen tow ratings for the Stinger in Australia. And from spy photos it seems that Kia did some trailer testing. So I’d be confident to load up some bikes, if some company figures out how to fit one.

Have you found anything on the subject?, I have only seen roof racks but that is not desirable for muy usage.

found anything

Curt makes trailer hitches for the 2017 Genesis G80. Since this car or better, the chassis of both cars are closely related, it would probably be not too far-fetched to believe, that sooner or later the company may have a hitch for the Stinger in their program.

It may also be a good idea to research whether there are any other companies that manufacture hitches for the G80 and contact them in regards to any plans they may have for the Stinger..... :)

I have not found a simple solution yet but got this yesterday...

I did not like what this guy did:
So I fitted a tow bar

The is better looking option but they will not sell outside AU:
All New Kia Stinger Genuine Accessories | Kia Australia

Same thing, they only sell in NZ:
Kia Stinger

There's now a trailer hitch available for the Stinger, made by Draw-Tite (product # 24974). Sweet!

Installation looks like a serious pain in the ass, but it will be worth it to haul the bike rack around. Etrailer has them in stock supposedly. I guess I'll be the guinea pig unless someone else gets around to installing one first.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
my subaru years ago had one. i dont think we need them dont look good.

Did you look at the Stinger instructions? Removing tail lights, bumper cover, diffuser, drop the exhaust, remove heatshields, trim both heatshields, trim diffuser, mount up two plates, then mount the hitch? Looks like a pain to me compared to the last couple I've done!

Even still, the work only has to be done once and then you have it for the next 10 years. :)

Why the hell would you want to fit a tow bar. I would buy a cheap car to do that or get some one else to tow a trailer. It’s like putting gum boots on a pig, it looks odd. Lol

Most people who have a hitch on a car use them for bike racks. If I want to pull a trailer I hook it up to the 6000 lb SUV sitting in the garage.

As far as the Stinger goes I bought mine to use as a well equipped commuter/general purpose car and I do consider it cheap for what it is considering it’s in Toyota Camry price territory (my 4 cyl version anyway). Different strokes for different folks.

Ok, see your point not for me though.

just saw a tow hitch for the Stinger on the U-Haul site in the US

U Haul has always been a good installer not cheap but lifetime warranty

That’s the #24974 hitch made by Draw-Tite. It can be purchased elsewhere for cheaper if you’re going to install it yourself or take it somewhere to be installed.

Thanks for the info. I'm going ahead with the UHaul hitch & install. They are nearby with a large facility and seemingly good service. I'll report back with the results.

I think you have the right idea if they have good reviews/reputation at their location. The install on the Stinger is a real PITA.

If you want to see how big of job it is you can check out my post in the How To section. Obviously they will be faster at it than I was because of doing it a thousand times.

Thanks for that detailed HowTo. With no garage and a sloping driveway it's way too difficult for me to do it right the first time. Although I prefer to do things myself, this one's over my head.

Hitch from U-Haul: Poor service, no follow up, utter fail.
I ordered a hitch and installation for my car and scheduled the service via the U-Haul Website. I received email confirmation of my order and appointment. Appointment day arrived and received a call that the hitch had not yet arrived, but that I would get status call back that day. I never received a call back from the Highway 70 location in Durham NC. I called the location 3 times over 3 days, each time I was forwarded to a CSR in Texas who could not even tell me if the hitch had been shipped let alone any tracking info. The CSR knew nothing about the status but said they would contact the location for a callback to me. No callback received.
I finally called the nationwide U-Haul customer support line. They couldn't tell me anything about the shipping status of the hitch, where it was, or even if it was shipped to the dealer. I cancelled the order, and am now looking for a better solution.
Suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

An option might be to order it from ETrailer and take it to a trusted local body shop when it comes in. You want someone who’s not going to butcher the bumper removal (especially the parking sensor connections) and the bumper cutting. A body shop might be the ticket?

Followed StingEm's advice and ordered hitch from Etrailer. They shipped it for free and I received it in 3 business days. It arrived in good condition. Very happy with Etrailer.
My detailer recommended Auto Arts in Raleigh NC for the install. They did a fine job installing it and they did it in 2 working days. The price matched the estimated price of $422.50 plus tax.
Installing a hitch on a Kia Stinger is beyond the capabilities of your average hitch shop. It's much more complex than bolting a hitch to a pickup truck. Taking the rear bumper/fascia off a Stinger and carefully cutting it and then reinstalling it is best done by a body shop. Don't use a hitch shop to install a hitch on a Kia Stinger, take it to a good body shop or intelligent/skilled mechanic.
No modifications to the Draw Tite hitch were required for the install. It fit right out of the box. All the mounting hardware was included and used.
To me it was worth the $422.50 for a quality install with no problems. Highly recommend the Draw Tite hitch and Auto Arts in Raleigh.
