Well since no one that I have seen has asked this question I will. Is there a tune out there or will there be or maybe even an override in the future that will override the horrible:mad: thing kia has done to us and limited the GT's with 18 inch wheel to 134mph?? I know they did this because of the speed rating on the tires they put on it which as we all know is an EASY EASY fix better tires with higher speed rating or back to the factory 19 inch I don't think us that had to get the 18 inch all season package should be punished for the climate we live in. If there is no such thing out there the performance guys on here that own companies might want to put some very serious time,R/D and thought into producing an override for this. Took the stinger out tonight and had to find out if it was true about the speed cut I didn't wanna believe it and then 134mph hit and I got a major case of BLUE BALLS not funny KIA not funny.... 140mph and I would of been happy as hell and then went out and got 19 inch wheel and tires tomorrow with a high speed rating. If I hit 140 I would know it wasn't true but sadly it was 134mph it felt like she left the room as was about to finish you guys know what I mean out there !!:(

That will require a flash of the ECM and that will be detectable by Kia. So weigh your options carefully when a solution comes around.

Totally understand that but I think that if we have the proper tires and meet all the speed rating specs the dealer should reflash them for us this is unacceptable to me and the dealers should inform its customers of what the hell just happened so we don't get bamboozled. someone will come out with something to override it I'm sure in the future that is undetectable I'm sure with the things that can be done now a days someone will develop something i prey.

Oh I'm with you I'm beyond pissed off about it I WILL find a way to get rid of the limp dic* , even if it takes running 2 different ECUs

Not a problem I haven't ever met a car I couldn't defeat or mod in any way or find someone who knows how to. I will post the answer right here as soon as I get it may take months but I will find a way and keep my warranty.

I remember when I was stationed in Germany and had my car shipped there, a local dealership flashed the ECU to remove the speed limiter. Autobahn is a lot more fun when your speed is only limited by the engine and not the ECU

That’s going to be my first approach but the U.S is a little more uptight than overseas lol

For KIA to do it in the US it will take a class action lawsuit from all of us owners that bought before they put their disclaimer up. The good news is that the first of the month Tork Motorsports @ www.damnfastdd.com will be offering a tune with optional ecu for those who want to save their warranty. I emailed him and the speed limiter will be removed. Here's a teaser video...
