I accidentally broke wheel nut and tried to replace it but there were not enough space to get nut in. Do you have to remove axle nut to put wheel nut? Or is there any simple way to do it? Any idea? Plz help and share your knowledge. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about broken wheel stud? If so, you will need to remove wheel bearing. Those wheel bearing bolts are pita to remove with axle in the way, but doable without removing the whole knuckle assembly.

yes wheel stud. you mean center bolt ? one with safety pin in? if so that is the only bolt to remove or anything else?

Not center bolt. It's an axle nut. Also you'll have to remove 4 wheel bearing bolts from the back. Like I sad, they are pita to remove because of the axle that's in the way, but doable.

I guess i will stop by dealership and get it estimated. I did sway bars but no energy for something pita lately. Thank you so much for your info though.

I belive the manual calls for removing the entire knuckle assembly in order to remove rear wheel bearing. So, I would guess the estimate is $500+. Might be wrong through. Let us know, anyway.

Then basically it is better to replace hub assembly than replacing single wheel nut? Huh? I probably buy a good jack and do DIY. Not sure. For sway bar shops quoted me 400 and up. That was why i did myself just several bolts for 400 non sense.

That definitely will cost more than sway bar installation. There's really no point in replacing the wheel bearing, unless you have a lot of miles. And it will add around $200 for wheel bearing itself.

yes i see it 250 on website. how many hours will it take? 4 hr? or just drive it with 4 wheel nut?

Took me about 6-7 hours to replace all 4 corners.

Thank you so much. I guess i will work on it in 2-3 weeks.

No problem.

i've heard of someone getting one of the rear lug studs replaced without doing the whole hub, but I haven't seen the process. try going to a good tire place or idenpendent mechanic, if you have any that you know of or can have recommended to you. Guy told me it took about an hour for the shop to do it, but he didn't see what they were doing because he dropped it off.

Yesterday i worked on my stinger for placing that single wheel nut but failed. Took me total 8 hours. I remove 4 nuts and axle nut. But something was holding that hub assembly. I checked every single nuts and bolt but i could not find what is holding that hub. I jacked another side just in case something related to it. But no. It was terrifying and 4 nuts needed T55 hex. It was worst pita through out all my installation. Intake,jb4,intercooler,drl 71,snorkle,Ewg,compaing to replacing one fxxxsingle nut, it was piece of cake.
I just drive mine till something come up.

Rust was holding that hub in place. Some penetrating oil and heavy hammer will do the trick. Sorry to hear, you had to go through all that hustle for no result. At least you know how to do it. Just make sure you use torque wrench when tightening 4 hub bolts and axle nut. It's important.

I just use power drill for axle and my hand feeling torque for four bolts. Haha there will be another day do the same process then i will use torque wranch. Thanks.

Dont know how powerful your power drill, but axle nut requires 230lbs/ft. Wich is a lot. And around 80lbs/ft for 4 hub bolts.

it has been done so leave everything to god. It is what it is.
