Hey so my car started doing a ticking noise only upon acceleration. it doesn’t do it all the time. Sometimes when the car is warmed up it won’t do it. Also to mention If I’m in park and slowly upping the rpm’s it will not making the noise. 22 Stinger gt2 performance mods as of right now is an oil catch can. But I do have a lap 3 stage 2 ecu tune, it’s just not on the car currently.

It’s not letting me post a video.

you have to post something around 15 times before the forum will let you post links.

I have no idea what your noise is caused from. good luck tracking it down.

Pcv valve?

I’ll have to check that out.

Sounds good. I’ll have to try and snag a video from the outside. But like it said it’s kind of hard since it only does it during acceleration and not in park or anything.

Post in thread 'What's good catch can?' What's good catch can?

Post 107 and on thru @Timothy1_17 lil ordeal. He may be able to give more insight too. But definitely comment on stuff till you can add a vid. Tons of smart people on here, i am NOT one of them. Just to make that clear

Could be the check valve in your catch can, or the PCV is there is a leak in the catch can system.
Does it sound kinda like a marble bouncing?
Easy to find out just unhook the CC and run it the stock way for a bit and see if it goes away. Some of the cheap CC don't seal very well and can cause weird noises. Especially when it gets chilly.

Yep, it started on that thread and spread to a few others. The latest info I put was on here: Weird engine buzzing sound (bees?). And I also posted on "What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?" on page #648, post #12,951.

Without a video, it's hard to say if the noise is the same as mine, and others.

The noise I have is from the PCV valve. Seems to be a slight imbalance in the boost lines somewhere that causes the PCV to rapidly open/close. And as you can see from the threads I posted above, the dealer was able to replicate it with a brand new Stinger.

I still get the noise and I no longer have an OCC installed. It drives me crazy if I stop and think about it, but not sure what to do anymore. She runs great, pulls hard, and all logs I have are healthy and normal. I dunno

Since it's not happening when parked, I'm going to vote the most obvious thing and suggest it's something rattling in a rim/wheel. Until that's completely eliminated I wouldn't pursuing a cause elsewhere. It would also explain why it's randomly happening, as whatever is moving gets temporarily 'stuck' in position until it gets jarred loose again. Could even be something else moving/rattling in the car, while in motion.

... aaand the other thing to check, is the noise coming from the car stereo speakers? Have you added anything electronic that could be causing grounding issues, etc?
