I just got the 2019 GT2 and the exhaust is way too quiet. I've seen many videos with Borla, Ark and SSR exhaust mods but they don't seem to be so throaty and seem to have some drone. What kind of exhaust mod or any mod for that matter, can i upgrade to in order to get the V6 rumble with out the drone but also increased HP.

Thank you, im so excited to be part of the Stinger community lol.

Congrats on your Stinger and welcome to the “Hive”!

There are other exhaust options but please understand what you’re asking for is difficult to achieve. More rumble and increased HP come by removing exhaust restrictions. Unfortunately the more free flowing the exhaust, the louder the drone will be. Axle-backs/Muffler deletes sound much more “throaty” but have mild drone. Adding DPs or removing cats give a lot more power and sound, but drone becomes extreme.

Best option I’ve seen is a custom muffler delete with “drone pipes” or side silencers added. That will give you the most HP and deep throaty sound, but will keep the drone to a minimum. Here’s one example and what you might be looking for.

Hope this helps and happy tuning!

Just make sure your expectations are realistic. This is a twin turbo V6, not a V8, a deep throaty rumble is pretty much impossible.

LS swap w/custom ground cam, longtube headers, x-pipe, bullet mufflers dumped near the rear axle.

Done deal.

So much "Greek" spoken here already. :P

Welcome. I like the sounds of my GT1. It's supposed to be quiet "in here". If you want more noise, open the sunroof/windows and put it in Sport. (I know, not enough.)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

years ago I was trying to figure out how to fix the horrible exhaust note of my RX7, this was the solution lol

I recommend you seriously reconsider the Borla. I've this on my car for a few months and it is awesome. Gives the car a nice rumble and bark when you put your foot down. Put some sound deadening in the spare wheel well and drone is almost non-existent.

ssr downpipes with ssr axle back.. all exhaust will have some drone but if u don't mind it then WOT and u got ur sounds u r looking for

Not sure what an LS swap is & what exactly is the difference between a bullet muffler and the regular boxy looking ones

That is exactly what I was thinking, I had a muffler delete in my old 2016 ILX but it seemed to have too much drone but those drone pipes might be the solution. Thanks!

Yes I am aware of that but I’ve heard some very throaty V6’s like the q50’s or even the Lexus IS V6. I come from a long history of inline 4 cylinder cars so the stinger is my first 6 cylinder and I would love the V6 deep loud exhaust.

I may just go with that it seems like everyone who has the borla exhaust seems to like it and a lot of people seem to have it

I’ve also seen many videos of the SSR downpours and even mid pipes. Seems like that can be a very good option as well.

LS is a prefix for a designation of a series of small block V8s built by GM. They're in Camaros, Firebirds, Corvettes, GTOs, Monaros, Trailblazers, etc. They can be bought for cheap and are easy to mod to make huge amount of power (and noise). Many car owners swap them into their non-LS equipped car.

My post was mostly sarcasm but the point was to say the noise you're after is best obtained with a V8.

also keep in mind that this engine isn't going to sound like an NA v6 like the VQ engines from Nissan/Infiniti either. Turbos have a pretty significant effect on exhaust note. Just about every engine sounds better without turbos, except maybe an I4.

I'm not saying it can't sound good, I'm just saying it's going to sound different and in my opinion, not quite as good. Listen to some clips of Formula 1 V6 engines before and after they mandated turbo chargers.

Well how about a video showing us how it sounds guy ok???

Jonny Tig’s turbo back exhaust is the best sounding exhaust for the Stinger.
