So the more I look at the images of the GT 420 Stinger that made the rounds a few weeks ago, the more I like the black front bumper vinyl. I think it adds a bit of aggression without the expense of a front splitter. And the added paint protection in that area would be great.

Does anyone have experience or opinion in how difficult it would be to wrap that area? Making the transition around the brake ducts looks tricky. I'm thinking of using a 1 x 5 ft piece of black satin vinyl and some knifeless tape to start.

I’ve wrapped an entire Tundra but it had nothing like those tight curves and radius. If you’ve never wrapped before, it will be a lesson in patience. Start with way more vinyl than you think you need......in all directions. A 1x5 won’t do it. You’ll need a heat gun and some other tools of the trade.

Its a good look , but I think very challenging without a fair amount of vinyl experience , I think it would be much easier with the bumper removed as well as all the ducts/vents...............good luck !! it will look great

Definitely going to need to remove the brake vent and lower grill, but that's probably obvious. Opinion, not experience, but it doesn't look all that hard, though, because the "inside" curves aren't very deep, they are covered by those parts. Still a challenge if it's your first attempt.

Check out CK Wraps YouTube channel for some great tutorials/examples..

Or, depending on conditions and your cleaning schedule. tape it off and plastidip it. If your ok with a satin finish. Way easier and looks super smooth and those hard-to-reach areas.

I had a white STI and the rear bumper would get yellowed around the exhaust. I Couldn’t get it all out, no the matter what I tried. So I ended up plastidipping an area of the around each exhaust tip. Worked perfectly - you could say it even looks OEM, for months, even up to when I sold the vehicle.

They have a Glossifier now that can give the color a sheen .....................

Very good point.. I was planning to do that with the roof panel behind the glass on mine. Not sure why I decided against it!
the great thing about PD is how easy it is to remove if you make a mistake or dont like it .

Great minds must think a like, @Last Lemming Alive - I decided to go the Plasti Dip route. Not sure why I didn’t think of it first as I just did my wheels a few weekends ago.

I got some auto masking tape, vinyl fine line tape, and tape & drape from Amazon and went at it this afternoon. I had DYC pre-dip spray thanks to the wheel kit. Masking took around 1.5-2 hours to get all the curves laid out. This was my first time using tape & drape; it was amazing. BTW, I didn’t remove any of the trim for this.

I ended up doing 4 coats of black and one of the glossifier from rattle cans I got at Lowe’s hardware.

Overall, I’m happy with it. I think I shouldn’t have let the dip cure so long between coats as the vinyl edge tape didn’t cut it as cleanly as I had hoped. (Yes, I peeled it as the last coat was wet) But as was mentioned, I can just peel it off when/if I change my mind.

Is it just me, or is it further middle on the driver side vs the passenger side? It looks like you're inside of the trim line on the pass and over on the driver.

IDK - could be all the shadows. I’ll try and put up some photos of it in the sun tomorrow.
