The Official 2.0T Stinger Fuel Efficiency Discussion

I've been following the recommended break in procedure as outlined in the manual and have put only about 350 miles on it so far. The majority (90-95%) of those miles have been surface roads in medium traffic. I have tried to keep the rpm's between 2000 and 4000, trying to vary the revs as advised. As of this morning my cumulative mpg is 18.4.

I fully expect that figure to rise noticeably as the engine breaks in and I begin being more smooth in driving style. For reference, one morning I decided to drive as conservatively as possible while driving my son to daycare. On surface roads I managed over 34mpg for that round trip. All of my numbers quoted come from the onboard mpg-o-meter. ;)

I don't think I am seeing the real consumption at the moment just after 2000km. Since it was during the break-in period, I have been trying out different things. I am going to bring my car in for its first service sometimes next week.

Still, the first 1500 or so, I have been getting just above 10km/L which was predominantly city driving with very bad stop and go traffic.

Then, the last 600 km or so, I have been driving about 50% highway, 50% city, and got a tat over 14km/L.
