Had the car back about a month after the repaint and just picked her up this morning after having it completely ceramic coated. Vid from the installer is below, in his shop, because its raining like crazy here........AGAIN. Same as it was when I picked it up from repaint. I am completely thrilled with how it turned out.

He also went over the entire car with an inspection light before coating to inspect the paint for me everywhere to make sure there were no issues after repaint. Nothing found, coating done, and I am one happy Sunset Yellow owner now!

What product did they use? How many coats?

Product used was Element 119 Diamond, www.element119.com and it has a lifetime warranty as long as you do yearly 'checkups' with your installer or a licensed Element 119 installer.

James, the installer, did 2 coats on everything on the exterior and 1 coat on the interior.

EDIT: Lifetime warranty on new cars only.

you mind saying the cost?

Not at all. I got mine done for $850, however, the owner asked to use my car for promotions, ads, etc. A normal job like this can run $1800-2500 for exterior and interior coating, depending on any paint correction and cleaning that needs to be done.

It sparkles in the sun and has that deep, wet paint look to it all the time. I couldnt be happier with the end result.

Looks fantastic.... super wet and glossy look all the time time, great price too.
So no life time warranty then?
Do they charge you for the "annual inspection" to keep the warranty? Not 100% certain, i have heard some like Ceramic Pro installers, at annual inspection they usually clean and reapplay a maintenance layer, hence a charge for the "inspection"

Oh no, i have the lifetime warranty. If you get it applied to a car older than 2 years, thats when the limits apply. Probably shouldve clarified. They do a cleaning and inspection, and if needed will apply a maintenance layer, so Im sure there is a charge but we didn't discuss it. Hopefully i can get some pics tomorrow outside since its going to be bright and sunny and really see the shine. Ill post them here when I get some done.

I just got quoted at $1500 for the exterior with Gtechniq Crystal Syerum (5yr product), he’d do the wheels too and paint correction. He’d do the paint correction and then send the car next door for PPF, then bring it back for coating.

There’s some cheaper local places I think, but the Gtechniq was recommended by detailer buddy who lives to far away to do mine.

I have a place locally running a buy-one-get-one on Ceramic pro job. 1000 for two cars. Exterior paint prep, four coats, and two top coats. Only paint. No wheels or glass. Not bad though.

You had it done within a month of the repaint? I was told not to put wax or any type of sealant on the paint for at least 60 days so it has time to cure.

I was quoted 900 for one coat, 1300 for two and 1600 for three coats
I am not sure if that include paint correction, which this car does not need for sure

Same with us- we were told 60 days before wax or anything other than a wash.

Per the PPG rep that painted my car, since the correct primer, paint, and clear were used and baked at each step, I didn't have to wait. Made sure to double check that when I picked it up and it was re-iterated that I didn't have to wait.

Where was your car repainted?

Where was your car repainted?

Benson Collision, owned by Benson Kia dealer local to me. Kia kept giving them the runaround about definitive answers for paint, etc. They got tired of messing with Kia so they called in their PPG rep to finish the car.

glad to see you kept the yellow, that is going to be a tough combo to find later on.
