Everywhere I look people still trash talk these brands acting like they are the worst vehicles on the road. What the hell does Kia/Hyundai have to do to get beyond this?

I've owned Audi, Subaru, Jeep, Toyota, and Kia. The only brand that comes even close to reliability is Toyota. My Stinger GT1 shits all over my Audi A4 and Subaru WRX's in both performance and quality. I can't believe I use to be such a fan boy of the STI. I haven't had a SINGLE ISSUE with my Stinger for 15,000 miles in 2 years. My other cars had constant check engine lights and ridiculously expensive repairs.

I guess it's their loss and my gain, but it still makes me angry.

Who hurt you? lol

Let people have their own opinions and views. It doesn't matter what others think. All that matters is that you're driving a vehicle that you enjoy. Let the haters hate. All brands and makes and models get grief from people. There are too many clowns out there to care.

You know what makes me angry? Starving children, homeless people with nowhere to go, poverty, war, predatory career criminals, etc...

Relax amigo! ;)

To be fair KIA deserves decades of hate for some of the absolute garbage they flooded the market with in the 90's and 2000's.

It will take time for people to realize the strides they've made. The cars have gotten better but the dealers/service centers have a long way to go yet.

Just live it up my friend :)
I'm waiting for my hybrid badge to show up so I swap out the GT AWD badge. People are so brand centric even though former "off brands" are making more powerful cars. My local club has 5 Stingers now, a couple of Veloster N's and a pair of Genesis Coupes. We know pretty well that the Koreans have been making some firepower lately.

Don't feel bad either, everybody goes through their STI phase. They're not bad cars, just not straight line cars. I was driving my drunk wife home the other night and someone in a modded WRX wanted to roll so, gave him a length, pinned the pedal and went for it!

A-f$%#ing-men.

Put a percent of that passion toward helping humanity and the world will immediately be a better place.

Just laugh it off, it's not worth getting upset. It's their opinion, we all have them and there's not much you can do to change an adult's opinion.

Personally I can't even be bothered since I have pretty strong automotive prejudices as well. For instance, I'd honestly rather be dragged behind an american car than ever drive one. And don't get me started on toyexus, nissan, vw or even audi....

What year A4 did you have? Put apples to apples, go with S4 and the S4 will beat the Stinger for interior quality, refinement, and performance is similar, although with an edge to the S4. Even more, go S5 to Stinger, that's more apples to apples.

Yep, you'll pay more for Audi and the repairs will indeed be expensive, not to mention the MSRP sticker shock. I would not put the Stinger in the exact same league as Audi for quality, they're nearly universally renowned for having some of the best interiors for the price, both quality and features. The German cars are arguably better in quality, but the typical worse long term reliability and high sticker price hurts their reputation, so they have a stigma in the public's eye too.

Now the WRX....no contest there...plastic fantastic. Great rally car though lol.

This too shall pass. When I was young (when Toyota had been in the U.S. for about 25 years), everyone made jokes about Toyotas that make Yugo jokes sound like compliments. It wasn't long before those snarky remarks went stale and most of my friends were bragging about their Toyotas and Lexi.

Kias have been here for a little over 25 years. Don't get mad; just feel smart to be one of those who couldn't be fooled by the snark.

I somewhat hope and pray that Kia is the new "Toyota" at least with longevity and reliability for the Stinger. I want my ride to last a solid decade at the least! :p

To end the thread!!

Why do you think there is still strong racism in our world.

If there are folks who actually believe that the color of your skin changes who you are or what your worth, there will be many more who think kia is trash.

There are worse ones than that too i didnt even mention religion lol

A couple weeks ago I was talking to a guy about car detailing because he had his company shirt on which was a advertisement.

I was telling him how I was looking to get a full paint correction and he was saying how most times people don't need a paint correction just a little polish saying how you can get the "same results as a paint correction" and then proceeded to ask what car I have.

I told him I have a Stinger and he asked what is that I replied "a Kia"

His reaction was hilarious but disrespectful nonetheless.

He goes and says "A KIA!! oh nah you don't need to paint correct that" In a manner that Kia's are crap

oh boy I would have told him what the fuk is wrong with you? I bet you drive a Bugatti right? And walked away saying business rule number 1 don't fukin open your mouth if you are going to disrespect the customer.

I’d rather not do business with someone like that.

My Porsche dealer is been garbage they damaged the interior also when my headliner started sagging because Florida heat they denied the claim saying it was wear and tear. My Audi R8 was 2 days in the shop cuz the retard mechanic did not know the alignment specs.
So what you say is yet another myth that gets passed from one person to another and gullible people believe that.
My dealer even though simple and modest no fancy girl serving champagne or fancy coffee has been courteous fast, clean, very affordable and they have NOT damaged my car. So people like to spread misconceptions based on populistic beliefs.

You can't expect to change people's stupidity, Kia has already changed their quality and its top notch. Personally don't give a S@#% if people know I drive a Kia or an R8 I am in love with my Stinga and that is what matters to me, is not like someone can tell me you can only afford a Kia.

A part of the smile on my face at the time was disbelief and he gave me his business card.
I was hoping I'd run into him in the parking lot so he could see my Kia.

I did not keep that card for long.

Judging by the huge number of Kia's and Hyundai's on the road, they are definitely doing something right.

I just wish Kia/Hyundai would put as much effort into improving their service department experience as they have in the design of their current vehicles.

I agree that Kia needs to up their customer service experience. My local dealership is pretty great but, I still had to debate with the service manager about warrantying the replacement bumpers to remedy my trunk rattle. Its funny, as long as you know your way around service bulletins and recalls, you can guide your service team to doing whats needed for your car and I feel that they respect you for knowing what you're doing.

Who cares what people think? Especially strangers...

Sounds like a lot of people on here have very comfortable lives to stress this much over what someone who is ignorant has to say about what they drive lol. :p
