A friend of mine has a 2017 Jeep SRT8 and a nice long private road. My stinger is the AWD GT2 model. Both cars totally stock.
We lined them up yesterday and the Stinger absolutely crushed the Jeep. Stinger in Sport mode, Jeep in Track Mode.
Race 1: Stinger with launch control. Jeep never had a chance. Stinger got off the line with a bit of wheel spin and pulled away from the Jeep consistently up to 80 when I didn't want to keep embarrassing him.
Race 2: No launch control. Jeep got ahead of me by about a car length until boost hit. By the end of 2nd gear I was a car length ahead of him. He was blown away.
No one got a jump for either race. The jeep has a launch control mode but he was not using it; it would have helped him off the line but after that, the Stinger just pulls and pulls on it. We were both surprised, as the advertised 0-60 for the Jeep is 4.4 seconds. We are a mile high here in Denver, so I'm sure the air up here is worse for his naturally aspirated V8 and doesn't hurt the stinger as much. Jeep sounds way better, but he was pretty butt hurt about it all.
Very happy with the performance of the Kia.
