Perhaps some members might dislike my comments but I'll go ahead anyway.

Seems that there are some members who have had clearly unacceptable repair experiences and that's unacceptable. On the other hand, throughout the internet, a system that allows an unhappy individual to share his discontent to millions, creates an environment where complainers totally dominate the discussion.

I think people who complain are a tiny number compared to those who are satisfied but say nothing.

I'll give you a case in point, in this case firearms, a hobby of mine. I purchased a S&W Performance Center 500 Mag and really liked it. I called S&W Customer Service and said so. The woman said "You mean you called just to compliment us?" I said yes, she said "No one has ever said that to me, made my day."

If you feel you have the right to complain about substandard performance, I think you have an obligation to say well done when warranted.

Kia has gotten J.D. Power awards for 10+ yrs, doubt that would have happened if they made junk, same for the 10 yr/100,000 power train warranty.

My 2022 Stinger GT1 has 465 miles, I intend to give it excellent maintenance and I don't abuse my cars. I expect it will give me excellent service. While it is still in the break in routine which I'm following, I'm delighted with the way the car performs. Don

53k miles. No issues. Never even did a proper break in period. Just started driving. The first 40k were all highway commuting. These last 13k have been all local city and some highway since I changed jobs.

Hummm lets see, where do I start? Got my gt2 with 17k miles on it, smashed and totaled. Rebuilt it myself. Drives great. Had a sunroof rattle, mostly fixed it. Fixed the hatch rattle but also have a headliner rattle. That one could be my fault though, have to take it down to check.
Now let's start with the fun: drove over a year with 3 quarts of transmission fluid missing because I didn't refill the fluid when I replaced the trans oil cooler... yeah I know big oof on my part. Car drove fine all that time and I was not easy with it. Maybe that transmission additive i added helped it not burn itself. Did an black stone labs analysis and they claimed trans health was pretty good, even with it being air powered sometimes. Yeah as soon as I found out i was missing trans fluid I ordered some and also a BMS trans cooler, for additional fluid capacity.
Next big oof, the BMS differential brace snapped one of my diff cover bolts and it leaked out some diff fluid. It was not that much because I check under my car often and it was only one of the bolts that snapped. Got new bolts and fixed the leak, still have yet to do a diff fluid change. No lsd diff noise or odd behavior noted.
Now the biggest oof, I somehow poped the accessory off while doing some drifting and overheated the engine. Like from normal to past the red in an instant. Blew coolant everywhere. Like everywhere. So towed it home, put the belt back on, did an oil change and refilled the coolant. Oil was good and coolant system held. Car runs just as before.
So yeah, I think i have been a bit more rough on my car than most and so far it has held up pretty well. It's not perfect but i didn't expect perfection in the first place. I don't plan to sell it, I will drive it till it falls apart or blows up. Thats why I am considering even more mods and a TCU tune. And a more aggressive ecu tune. I am the warranty after all.

Echoing the OP: the negative outweighs the positive on a forum like this because so many people join to express issues and seek answers. If any single issue plagued a majority of vehicles, this forum would be swamped by comments to that effect. The vast majority of Stingers have no significant problems: otherwise Kia would not offer the industry's best warranty package.

so if we have problems, dont talk about it and complain on the forum. it creates negativity.
i can respect that.
for me, this forum is a place to unwind and not be judged, though, as well.
i came here initially because i was trying to figure out if other stingers had the problems im having plus join people who share the same passion for this car. ive since then had some fun on here as well.
it is a fact, that complaining doesnt get you anywhere, unless its one of those squeaky wheel situations.
you only have 465 miles. i baby mine and get it to service on time as well.
i hope you dont experience any issues and have a good run.
some of us have had issues. this is my 2nd stinger.
i totally agree about creating negativity. i am guilty of this in many aspects, not just the forum.

Lost county how many Hyundai and Kia cars I have had and never had a critical problem like I have had with Germans and American cars, so you will only hear the few complainers and moaners who are inclined to vent and post their frustration online.

I think where lots of people get upset is when someone hops on a forum because they had a problem and just bash the entire lineup or make it sound like everything is just bad when it isn't the case.. I think most people realize that that isn't probably the case but are upset rightfully so if their 40+K$ purchase is having major issues.

These forums are great for showing dealers/manufacturers that , No, My issue is not a one off and can show a dealer or technician other examples.. Story about this, coworker got brand new palisade with hk sound system... randomly the audio only comes out of the driver speaker... dealer couldn't replicate and said they've never heard of it, couple other users on the palisade forum said the same issue and showing the dealer tech their posts made them look more deeply into it and ended up replacing the amp/audio computer headunit. probably just needed a reflash or update but that has fixed the issue so he was happy...

We should absolutely talk about the issues of any vehicle and hold manufacturers accountable for either one off flaws or inherent design flaws. Those will always exist with any mechanical/software object regardless of brand... we should try to keep it objective and not let emotion take over :D of course, it does seem that dealer experience is really the big negative point of the kia/hyundai image.. again even there, the worst dealer experience i've ever had was at a toyota dealership... luck of the draw has it that so far (fingers crossed) my local Kia dealer has been great and the second best dealer experience i've had, best was probably audi. !!

Another thing i've noticed is that the quality control does seem to have struggled at the 22 US MY facelift with a slew of new issues on those that hadn't existed prior. I will definitely come here and bring up any issues i may encounter with the stinger for sure and i expect to at some point unless i'm extremely luck and go 120k miles without a single issue not caused by an outside factor..

granted, we've only had our stinger for a year and 5 months now and have had a few fights with tires and body work done due to external factors... aka hitting a semi tire on the interstate and blowouts but not a single issue over 19k miles from the car itself..

and to the point above, that is so true. a huge percentage of people who would never join a forum to talk about their car only do so once they have an issue since most people even in a car like the stinger or other perceived enthusiast cars are not car enthusiasts or aren't ones to want to just talk about their car on a forum setting... In my entire company i only know one other person that is even a member of a car forum much less actually post anything.

If you have had a good experience with Kia then thank you're fairy god mother. For those of us that have been to the pit of despair called Kia service then please type “F”.

How you perceive negative posts is up to you. Personally I don't perceive them as complaining, I perceive them as data.

The biggest issue for me with taking all feedback seriously and with the same weight, is that you are not always privy to the whole story. There's a lot of people making changes to their cars and not always wanting to share that when asking about an issue/advice fearing their posts being traced back to their warranty repair, for example. Others screw something up and omit that (often to their own detriment since it would be critical to know if offering repair advice). This is just a case of pride/shame. There's certainly random problem parts. It's just that all of the things we read on the internet need to be taken with a grain of salt. There's rarely a reliable means to verify anything anyone posts about their situation on an internet forum is indeed fact. Observed gas mileage, 1/4 mile times, and price paid for the car are other areas people sometimes lie.

Agree on giving positive feedback. I go out of my way to leave good (as well as bad) reviews on google maps, for example.

If any of you attend meets or go on cruises together, highly recommend meeting/cruising to a Kia dealership.

Our Washington group has this one cruise route (we did this cruise 3 times already), where we stop once at a Kia dealership. Every time we basically pull half the staff (which is only 2 or 3 people considering COVID and almost middle of nowhere). I hope they appreciate it considering the fact that we do end up taking a huge part of their lot without notice

It’s human to say when you have issues. Cars are mechanical and can have failures. Up to this point my 2021 I bought used with 18,000 miles has been great. I put 12,000 miles on it and have driven it hard when I found good twisty roads near my house. I love this car. For its size and weight it handles better than I expected. So far so good.

Honestly my Kia Optima had 105k miles and no actual issues that werent brought up bc of myself, my stinger is at almost 80k miles and no major issues yet. I think its mainly how u treat n take care of your vehicle, but theres always a bad apple.

2019 GT1 RWD with mods. 25k on it now. Drive it Hard on occasion. Absolutely 0 issues. Just standard maintenance. Runs like a dream. I do get the overhead rattle sometimes, but it’s not been enough of an annoyance for me to take a look at it (yet).

55k miles on my 2020 GT and the only issue I had were warped rotors from the stock brake pads. Replaced those under warranty around 20k miles. Once I swapped those pads out for better ones its been nearly perfect.

Actually one issue, the trunk divider/privacy shield plastic bits ripped apart where it attaches on the sides lol.

epoxy to the rescue. I've epoxied both of mine at two different times years apart.
