That's cold blooded, but true. The best performance upgrade for a 2.0 Stinger is to trade it for a 3.3 Stinger. The V6 Stinger is the only way to get real performance with a Stinger.
i beg to differ there "Travis"......i planned on trading my 2018 2.0T for a 2022 GT(just because....)....HOWEVER......after the "minor" mods i have done (JB4-MAP3,Shell 93octane, K$N, plugs), i can honestly say i am having "second" thoughts. at a 2 lane stoplight, i am in right lane behind soccer-mom van and in the left lane, a BMW 5 series (2015 or so) and in front of him.........Ferrari FF (one with the small back seat)...green light, Ferrari punches it and the bimmer hit at about the exact same time. i get around the van damn near push the gas pedal through the floor, JB4 lit up and i went around the BMW as if standing still....Ferrari 2 cars lengths ahead and saw me go around the BMW. big cloud of black smoke came from his exhaust, and the lead rapidly increased(as it should have). got to my turn off and BMW followed i pulled over and was asked if i had a GT minus badges. no sir, i don't..just the 2.0T with some added "motivation".....moral of the story is.....this 2.0T is bad ass (if you want it to be) and purrs like a kitten when i set the JB4 to MAP0......The best performance upgrade for a 2.0 Stinger is to trade it for a 3.3 Stinger. Performance is relative! I am very happy with my 2.0T. cruises effortlessly at XMPH, and gets 34 MPG doing that. I do have a problem with traction on my RWD and in fast sweepers the rear feel real light. Sure a little extra power is always welcomed.
Loved the post and stop light details! I've also had similar experiences. One question....at the start, you mentioned Map 3, but in closing, it looks like Map 0. I'm contemplating getting the JB4 and was curious of the maps to run with my mods using 93 octane (HKS Plugs, Catback Race Exhaust, Injen Intake and XLR Throttle Controller). Current chip is Racechip RS mode 6.i beg to differ there "Travis"......i planned on trading my 2018 2.0T for a 2022 GT(just because....)....HOWEVER......after the "minor" mods i have done (JB4-MAP3,Shell 93octane, K$N, plugs), i can honestly say i am having "second" thoughts. at a 2 lane stoplight, i am in right lane behind soccer-mom van and in the left lane, a BMW 5 series (2015 or so) and in front of him.........Ferrari FF (one with the small back seat)...green light, Ferrari punches it and the bimmer hit at about the exact same time. i get around the van damn near push the gas pedal through the floor, JB4 lit up and i went around the BMW as if standing still....Ferrari 2 cars lengths ahead and saw me go around the BMW. big cloud of black smoke came from his exhaust, and the lead rapidly increased(as it should have). got to my turn off and BMW followed i pulled over and was asked if i had a GT minus badges. no sir, i don't..just the 2.0T with some added "motivation".....moral of the story is.....this 2.0T is bad ass (if you want it to be) and purrs like a kitten when i set the JB4 to MAP0......
Thanks for the reply and feedback. I am a believer of your 0-60 times as my best was 5.5 seconds. My Racechip is the RS with only mode 6 max. I should have gotten the GTS Black with the additional mode 7. I also agree about your.mention about weight being a critical performance factor. I have even removed my spare tire in place of a small 12 volt tire repair kit. I will do a bit more research on how much diff the JB4 would add over the Racechip. If I can get to 5 seconds or less, I will be very content. Thanks!i run MAP 3 a lot. if you are not putting your foot in it constantly, it runs without any issues. With crappy gas and incorrect plug gaps, MAP3 is going to let you know quickly that something is not right. i shut it down to MAP 0 when i need to disconnect the JB4 for service appointments. my gas mileage is around 24mpg combined but if i get on it, it's more like 20 or less. my best 0-60 using a person timing, is 5.0(for those reading who disbelieve the 5s 0-60, note** i have taken as much weight off the car as possible to keep it a daily driver-makes a HUGE difference. weight is second only behind lack of power for robbing performance). with a good launch and maybe exhaust, i know i can get it under 5. fast enough for those "suckers" that think the 2.0T doesn't have what it takes....for Bolden, with those mods, should you get the JB4, your best bet is to start MAP1 take a couple of logs and let Terry @ burgermotorsports take a look. they know their sh**. don't know much about the racechip so you may want to research the differences between that and jb4 before you invest. i know what my car does when i change something but yours will be different with the additional mods.
i don't know what "specs" you are referring to (must be the "non-us" specs) especially, the diesel. It may have great gas mileage (it won't beat a snail out of the hole) but i could tell you that this car, in stock form, could do 6s off the lot. as i have posted in a different thread, i used to own one of the gen3 RX7's (twin turbo,Dom's red car in the first F&F) and that car only produced 255hp and 5.0s F-L-A-T 0-60 off the showroom floor('93m/y - that's right, 1993!!). with the mods to the stinger 2.0T, on MAP3, i could go toe to toe with that car but most of it's advantage(which is why the Stinger 2.0T needs the mods) was the 2900lb curb weight(neither 2.0T nor 3.3 GT2 could mess with that car in the curves....no shot!! the stinger beats it in torque by about 40ft/lbsThanks for replies guys. Looks promising. I wouldn't expect ~5sec with this engine at all, especially when stock can't make it faster than 7-7.5sec.
