So I was looking at another Stinger YouTube vid and noticed the car had a Sport+ mode... Is this EU only? What is the difference between that and normal Sport mode? If it turns off ESC and TSC I wish we had this in NA. I don't really use custom, even though I have it setup like Sport but with suspension on comfort. I just usually go into Sport mode since it's not unbearably stiff.

I believe sport plus is for the EU, I myself have been wondering what sport plus drives like.

I think it's something for EU cars but to be honest why don't we have all the same cars globally? I would love to have a custom mode! I even spoke to the dealer before buying the car and he said it has the custom mode but aperrently the eu cars have Sport+ and no custom mode:cautious:
imo the smart mode thing is damn unnecesarry ( tryed it a few times it stays in eco all the time cause I'm driving normal )

Btw @Wan El Guapo I think you are right, it just turns all the assists off

I suppose Kia thinks the EU cars get driven on track or more aggressively.
Schpok, is + firmer than regular sport?
I think I'd rather have Sport+ then Custom. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the pond.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
If I remember correctly, the Sport + mode also disables the traction control (maybe the stability control as well) which those without would have to do manually. There are no additional changes to the suspension although I don't know why the couldn't do that, would be nice to have a firmer setup in Sport Plus and let folks turn off the traction control (if they wanted to do that) themselves. I know, it's a GT car but the option would be nice.

I don't know why anyone would want to turn off traction and stability control. We are not racing. Cornering "aggressively" on public roads is benefitted by both controls. "Performance" isn't going to suffer, while safety is enhanced against the unknown (that patch of bad road surface around that blind curve, for instance). Am I missing something here?

You have to for launch control.

The reason features change for different markets is often because the governments have different regulations or requirements, and everything has to be approved.

Some people like drifting and you definitely can't do that with stability control on.

I agree with Ucinn, nothing wrong with a little tail happiness. Partly why I didn't want a fwd or fwd based awd.

Can you even drift in an AWD? I don't think so.

@eflyguy: LC is not driving; it is "dueling". You never use LC when being an aggressive driver, since it only gets used when "launching", not driving. You get my drift? (not sorry :p)

You can drift with AWD, most mornings I have traction and stability control off so I can “safely” get around a train in the back streets.

Hey guys/ladies. I live in Sweden and drive a Stinger GT 3.3. Seems the gear box setup is a little different over here/in European countries. First thing I noticed scrolling through this great forum, is that it seems the car also comes in RWD... most or all Stingers I see over here are AWD...
I don't have custom mode on my car but it does have eco/comfort/sport and sport+ modes. I have only had the car for about two weeks so I'm not familiar with all things related to it yet. I believe (I could be wrong) that the Sport+ mode only takes off the traction and "skid" control but och that it's otherwise same as Sport mode. If that's not the case I'd love to hear more about it. Love the car in Sport mode but I can't tell if theres any difference in suspension or gear box when I switch it to Sport+
AWD is of course great but also means u gotta watch it and put wheels/tires w same outer diameter around the car, or I think u might ruin the torque converter (might be wrong term) that handles the power to all 4 wheels... I'm not sure about the terminology as we have other words for it in Swedish.
I do love the car tho. Smooth and wee-behaved when u need it to be, and really fast whwn you're in that mood. I'm mostly "in that mood" hehe

^^^ KIA warns against different OD front and rear, how doing that can damage or cause failure in the AWD system. Then they go and put on rear tires that start out 2mm smaller than the fronts, and on a staggered setup will wear twice as fast. Makes no sense at all. I can only conclude that the potential difference in worn OD is insignificant vis-à-vis strain on the AWD system.

I have 255/35R19 rear and 225/40R19 fronts. If my math is correct that makes a difference of 0,75 mm or 0,0295 inch... Im guessing they consider this "close enough"... Tires are same as they put on the awd stingers at factory (if my information is correct

You won't notice any suspension difference changing modes unless you have adaptive suspension. Sport in my car only holds rpms longer and perhaps makes shifting more intuitive/'sporty'. As you say, the Sport+ removes the nannies (traction control). There might be some torque adjustments with the LSD, another option. My understanding is that launch control is basically enabling Sport+ then having you hold the brake and gas simultaneously as the "switch" for when to actually engage and launch.
