Recently I tried running the E30 fuel mixture to get a little extra power with my JB4. Began having issues with running lean and threw codes PO171 and PO174, I ran my tank down and filled back up to what should be mostly 93 now. Had my check engine light deleted and the car was running fine for a couple of days as it normally does. Then randomly my CEL came back on with the same codes while driving the car normally. I assumed there could be some leftover E85 in the tank and that after another refill on 93 I should be fine after deleting the CEL codes again. Then to my surprise, my Sport mode has stopped working. The car drives as it should in comfort mode, feels normal. I'm sure you all know the distinct difference between comfort and sport mode, but when I switch between the two there is no difference anymore. It's not changing my gear ratios, hardening the suspension or steering wheel, or anything else that it normally does. Do any of you know if this could be an electrical issue, or can the car not perform in sport mode with a CEL on? Im not to sure what is happening. Ever since I put E85 in the tank the car has been acting strange. Drives fine under normal conditions but acts like it doesn't want any of that pep it has in its step lol. Thanks!

I ran into this as well as I likely did not have a good mix. The car will not perform in Sport mode if the CEL is on down to the transmission shifting as if it were in comfort mode. The codes eventually went away and Sport mode worked again.

When I added my ARK’s and EWG’s I didn’t adjust app settings and was getting a CEL before I corrected it. Same thing no sport etc under code conditions. I was also running E30 but that in my case likely had nothing to do with it.

Thanks that’s good too know I’m not alone. I’ve left it in comfort mode since the CEL came on but was just confused when I tried sport mode and nothing changed. The E85 I got is poor quality too so that probably doesn’t help either. I’m running my tank all the way to E before filling back up with 93 then deleting the codes and hopefully that should fix everything. The car ran like a bat out of hell since October with no issues, up until the E85.

Ark down pipes or catback? I have the EWG’s too and spoke with Terry at BMS and he said my jb4 settings were fine. I’m convinced it’s just the bad gas and CEL, thanks for your input!

ARK secondaries and MBRP catback. And I assume you have the latest firmware.
