Hey All,

I have a 2023 stinger gt-line (2.5L 300hp). I kept the car under 4000 rpm for the first 1000 miles and then started to test its performance. I was hitting 5.6 to 5.8 0-60 times. We just tested it again, and it's hovering jsut under 7 seconds to 60 in sport mode with traction and stability off. However, the power 60mph+still feels the same. I have never out anything lower than 91 in the vehicle.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

your butt dyno won't be able to tell the difference that you describe. just variable conditions most likely. there is the possibility that one cylinder is starting to misfire. it usually begins by a power loss not a stutter. if that is the case you have a bad plug and probably coil pack. the low power can go on for quite a while without producing any other outward sign.

how was the temp and humidity on your quicker run compared to your slower run? go back and check, it can make a world of difference.

Various sites list the 0-60 times for the 2.5 engine at somewhere between 5.7 to 5.9 seconds.
It also varies a bit depending if you have 2WD or AWD.
If yours has suddenly gone to the 7 second mark, that tells me something is wrong.
It's under warranty, so take it back to the dealer.

lol. what is the complaint going to be, 'I can't do zero to sixty in under six seconds?

it certainly would not be the dumbest complaint I've ever heard, hell, it wouldn't even be in the top 10 haha.

have you tried in launch mode? (not sure if the gt-line gets that though)
are you testing at the same location and same direction you were getting the 5.6-5.8?
tire pressure the same as the previous launches? (less pressure -> less traction)
ambient temperature difference from last time? (colder air is denser, thus more power per liter)
bad gas? or regular sold to you as premium? run it as empty as you can and fill up somewhere different than usual
any other changes to the car (intakes, exhaust, different wheels/tires, etc?)

i'd run through that checklist before I went through the hassle of taking it in only to get "no problem found" on the paperwork.

Temperature, heat soak, humidity, elevation, load, can make huge changes.

Exactly.
It's not performing as it should, so ya, take it in and file a complaint.

I believe

I believe less pressure equals more traction. Lowering the PSI in your tires increases the tire contact patch which is why drag racing slicks crinkle so much on launch ( watch launch in slow motion). You need to make sure center of tires wear the same as the outer edges.

trade it in. 3.3 ftw lol

This is a bit older post, but I have been looking for a topic such as this one. I have been searching for acceleration times for the GT-Line Stinger's, both the 2.5 and the 2.0. I have also been looking for technical discussions for both their similarities and differences, but a vast majority of the topics are for the 3.3 (not a complaint but an observation). My '20 with the JB4 consistently will get to 60 in ~4.8 - 4.9, and that is not slow.

Hey! Thank you for sharing! I have gone out a few times over the last couple of nights and did a few 0-60 tests. Last night, the best I was able to get was 5.1, but did get a 4.95 last week. For what has been done to the car at this point, I don't think it's going to get any faster unless on a prepped surface. Mine is a RWD 2.0 GT-Line. I was very happy with the numbers. Thoughts?

A 5.1 is fantastic! pull the spare and the back seat and you will be a consistent 4.9!
