Simoniz Glasscoat?

The dealer is trying to sell me on "Simoniz Glasscoat" but from what I've read it's no good. Right now I'm looking for someone local who can do a nice ceramic coating but the applicators seem to be grouped in bigger cities only. I may do it myself if I can't find someone.

I found a video that goes step by step and seems pretty straight forward (though time intensive):

Has anyone had success with self application?

Good luck if i remember the car pre ceramic coating has to be contaminate free and very clean. Theres also a lengthy time where you can't touch the car. I watched someone do mine. If you're thinking of doing badge changes best to do it before the coating.

If you have a garage set up (or just space at home), that should be quite possible to do. Given that you already have other car wash products to help you prepare the paint, then it would certainly be cheaper than have it professionally done. Practically, it shouldn't be hard to apply the coating yourself.

I have my Stinger professionally coated upon taking delivery and I was planning to add a top coat on my own. But realized without a garage I just can't, so now I am leaning towards ceramic-infused waxes. Not gonna get the durability of a coating (top coat in my case, but application set up is similar) but at least it should prolong the life of my existing coatings.
