PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!
Hi All, New here and bought my 2022 Stinger GT in June '22 from Southland Kia, as they were the only ones who had one in stock. Unfortunately, they are about 38k's away from me and am considering getting servicing done at either Blackburn 8k's or Ferntree Gully 16k's away respectively. Does anyone have any experience with either of these two dealers with their Stinger servicing, or could provide a recommendation in Melbourne's outer east? Many thanks!

Thumb the form you will find dealer experiences are more often bad than good. If one of the 3 is good you will be lucky. Oh and Murphy says it will be the one 38k away. That is if you’re lucky. Welcome to all things Stinger.
I picked up my Stinger a few months ago and am coming up to the first inspection at 3000kms. If Stingwood sees this I would like to know where their car was serviced. I live near one of the dealers in Melbourne Australia but not convinced until I know some 18 yo is not going to test drive it. When it is test driven I will go with them.
.....and having serviced my last vehicles myself since new......I decided I would revert to dealer servicing for the 7 year warranty so that I get all the updates, software, design flaws rectified etc whcih I did not get when I home serviced my previous cars. That's the downside.
Blown GT, I ended up getting the first 3000k and 10000k service at Southland Kia. Dropped it off early in the morning and hung around in their waiting area until it was ready. I have installed dashcam in the car since, front and rear... Will be interesting to see if they try to disconnect it at the next service.
Stingwood, what did they upgrade the infotainment system to? What is different? As far as dashcam I see the two new cars advertised at Alan Mance Kia for $79777 and $79990 both have dashcams fitted. Did they drive your car on the services? I have had mine 4.5 months and only done 2500kms so pretty low. It will be more than a year maybe two before it hits 15,000kms. Still trying to work out where to get it serviced. I am in FTG and there are two service centres here but not convinced yet.
also......the satnav seems out of date, I know you can upgrade it. For example it tells me that there is a bank that hasn't been there for 10 years. It also has a "roadkill" setting which is really "animals crossing" It does not say "roadkill" when you approach...........
They dint upgrade the infotainment system, they 'updated' the software... Google maps for instance can now show full screen rather than split screen. I think you'll find all service schedules have 'test drive' as one of the items. Also mine is 2022 model and 10k first service, not 15k. Join the Facebook Kia stinger groups quite useful.
Also I got my dashcams installed by an auto electrician in Bayswater, front and rear but not via the dealer. Bought them from dashcams Australia website by blackvue.
Dropped my car into Blackburn Kia for the 3000 inspection. The only thing I was not happy with was the marks on the rear tailgate afterwards. I don't know whether they reversed into something or it was just something I hadn't noticed before but there were thumbprints on the hatch from where some dope pressed hard whilst operating the button underneath. (memo to Kia) you don't have to press the bodywork to open the hatch). A couple of vertical marks on the hatch too. Don't know whether it is manufacturing marks or reversed into something. My son's new GT Stinger we bought 8 weeks later does not have these marks. So I am putting mine into good guy who does paintless dent removal for $100 bucks. I hate dealer servicing but I wanted to maintain the 7 year warranty. I could service this myself as an A Grade Electrical Fitter and Mechanic but I was trying to move away from servicing I did the last 14 years on my previous car since new. I hate people touching my car!
OK so where did we get with this? My paintless dent removal guy looked at it for a sec then said, it's plastic!" It seems they come out of the mold like that.
