I swing the seatbelt pretty wide when getting in, and I keep denting the center console. Hurts my soul every time.

Not doing it as often as when I first got the car, but damn.

Are buckle bumpers a thing? Lol :D

I’m a big guy and haven’t swung it wide enough to dink the console. I do grip the buckle with my hand facing out so I think I just guide it down and my hand slides in the console and side.
Maybe some protective clear tape like Xpel?

Mine is pretty dinged up. Sucks! Wish we had the faux carbon look that the Canadian Stingers get.

Take it easy swinging it...gentemen. im 6'6" 240lbs no issues.

I showed a friend, and I think we figured it out. It's probably because I'm left handed. I grab it with my left, hold it with the metal facing out from my hand, and swing it in a convex arc around the upper part of my body (I'd have to shove my elbow through the window or become a contortionist to come down in a straight line). Were I to grab it with my right hand, my palm would cover most of the metal, and I would be pulling it down across my body in a straight line.

I'm not becoming ambidextrous just to save a few tiny dents in my car. Lol.

Time to move to Oz. Am I right?

I had the faux carbon fiber in my Optima. It looked fake. The aluminum is much nicer looking.
I don't know how your Optima looked with CF.. but the Stinger's CF central console is a beauty.. it really adds an additional high class look to the interior the car. Or maybe I'm just biased because we only have CF option.. no aluminium or back gloss.

I feel your pain, I’ve done it once, now mental note to self when fastening seatbelt has alleviated further damage.

Or we're just straight up lucky.. what do you say @Kamauxx

I agree. You all are lucky! And I really like the carbon fiber Kia is putting on the Stingers. It looks great.

I didn’t think the seat belt could latch into the shifter...I’ll have to check that when I get home...

not with my wife driving. i have a collection of pink slips from her street racing late at night.
and i don't think the thickness of clear tape would impeded the seatbelt. but i would clear wrap the console before the seatbelt, with all the heat in florida, with my luck, it would melt and i would either not be able to get out or buckle in.

Or you can delete the seatbelt......You know weight reduction and all that :rofl:
