I feel like I hear a lot of road noise driving this car compared to my Kia Optima. Am I hearing things? Also, would adding sound proofing insulation help? Is it the windows? I feel with the trunk rattling and the road noise it’s pretty annoying. Kinda disappointed. I do love this car. Sorry if this is posted already. Close thread and just link me to the appropriate thread. Thank you.

Hatchbacks will usually be louder than comparable sedans. The car has a good bit of sound proofing already installed.

You can try adding some to the wheel wells or changing out the tires for something more quiet

Depends. The only thing I've been hearing are the jets flying over head, the sound of my engine, etc. Regular noise one might hear. Then again, those who have had Audi's BMWs, Mercedes and so on might have a different definition of sound then me :-)

This is only my second car, but it seems like outside noises come through a bit more. I want a quiet cabin. I do have all season maybe that plays a part?

I also find the car has a lot of road noise, the roads in my area are rough so I think that plays a pretty big role. I would buy some sound deadener on Amazon and apply it to the entire lower hatch area, that area has no sound deadener so that would probably help.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Please add your location to your profile. It would also be helpful to know exactly which version you have.

I thought I had read somewhere about the sound deadening being different between the different trims.

Regardless, my Stinger has FAR less road noise than my Sorento, and I am happy with that.

Definitely. It has been widely talked about on the tire threads: how the OE Bridgestone 18" A/S are NOISY. The Michelin Pilot summer tires are quieter. And my replacement A/S Nitto Motivos are quieter still. That was the first thing I noticed when I got them; the tire noise diminished. I am a noise freak. If the Stinger's cabin were quieter yet, I'd be happier. But this car is the quietest ride I have ever had (but then, all my previous vehicles have been either vans, station wagons or small "skate" sedans:P). It has been as quiet as I expected, from reading the Kia hype about interior luxury (in which to enjoy the surround sound), but not as quiet as I would like if I had a choice. The windshield and front side windows are sound dampening glass. There is a lot of insulation to kill outside noise. I just might try that sound proofing tape or whatever it's called that others have put in the hatch.
