3.3TT Review on the Injen Short Ram Dual Intake Kit

Can't believe I wanted this long to do the injen intakes
The sounds are definitely worth it
Seems a bit more power as well, although that could be attributed to the grin with Windows down
Ended up fitting quite well too, but there are a couple tight clearance pts .... One being driver's side tube awfully close to what I believe is the heater hose

Only concern is the spot of oil I found on bottom of driver's side turbo inlet in attached photo. Anyone know if this is cause for any alarm? IMG_20200118_153754.webp

I recall others mentioning this and I believe the consensus was it’s not a great concern. I personally did not notice any oil in either of mine when I put my Injens on. Mind you I did them very early and I have an ADD-W1 OCC.

Cool, not too concerned now
Ordering catch can this weekend

New post install observation is in sport mode the shifts seem a bit harder, especially at lower RPMs in 2nd gear

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Do like feeling the gear changes more (reminds me of my first car ...'83 olds Hurst, had the three shifters for manually shifting the automatic transmission, made dash cracking sound when going hard into second. Fun car in all its 180hp glory which was not shabby in 1984)
This is one of only two daily drives I ever had with an automatic, since installing the intakes been wishing she was a manual to ring out those turbo/bov sounds.....that would be a blast
The paddle shifts just don't do it for me, seems more like a gimic ....she seems to do much better and faster shifts in auto mode

Better but slower.
If you measure your time using the paddles at shifting at 6K RPM vs letting it auto shift at 6.5k RPM, you will see that manual shifting is faster.(at least for 3rd~6th gears)

Still love my injens and would recommend them, BUT, this is definitely the highest IAT I've ever seen (taken after idling 45 minutes at the track)....

Time for an intercooler. Or WMI

As bad as I did, more like, time for drag radials or a whole new Stinger with AWD.

But yeah, IF I end up with another one or a G70, I'll definitely be looking into IC or WMI.

What map/fuel are you running to get to that 4.1 dragy result?

Map 5/93 plus E85. That's all I ever use. I sometimes go down to map 3 but then I miss the extra push (likely all in my head) and go back to 5.

Great review and video. Think i will get one now too.

I was worried it would bother my wife when i start the car in the garage in the morning (she is still sleeping when i go to work) but does not sound like it will make that much of a difference on start up and low idle out of the garage.

You won't hear any difference at startup or idle only when you are on it and the turbos are kicking in.

It is decided - I'll go Injen. Will get them and have them installed in next couple weeks.

yes, these intakes are not really too loud. with the windows up cannot hear but a bit more airflow...windows down is rather pleasing sounds but again not waking up the wife or the neighbors by any means.

on a side note, summer hit down here and never got anywhere with any heat shielding. does not seem to be much of an issue (no IAT gauge or anything like that, just open hood and touch the tubes method) but then again, since "you know what" hit, traffic is not too bad and rarely sitting idle for any length of time. In all, just seems like other turbo vehicles I had wherein you get a bit more power when temps and humidity are lower and a bit less when higher.
