Concerned about electronics and such freaking out when old battery is disconnected. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Well...too much YouTube viewing on the subject makes a man a bit freaked out. - thanks for clearing my head sir. What do you think is going to happen? Disconnecting the battery is an inevitable event. Nothing happens except your settings are lost. Disconnecting the battery is a way try and reset glitchy electronics. Usually doesn't fix whatever is buggy though.
That's what was freaking me out - last thing I wanted to do is have to go to a Kia Stealership after changing the battery out and have them touch my Stinger - as sad as that is.Thankfully the Stinger is not as fancy as something like a VW, which requires a "battery reprogram" if you swap your battery, and is supposed to have an ODB backup power supply connected when removing/swapping the battery...
Nada - most nannies off anywayNo loss to any other vehicle settings (like lane departure disabled, and other nannies like that)?
My previous car (G6) would lose connectivity with the BCM if the battery was disconnected/died for more than about 2-3 minutes--which would kill the use of the key fobs and anything that communicated through the BCM. Shitty design by any standards and the engineering manager who signed off on that design flaw should be locked in a chemical toilet over a holiday weekend and have panpipe music pumped in to contemplate their sins. What do you think is going to happen? My lift gate is manualFor some reason, the only setting that gets reset for me is the F -> C temp units, of all things
And you can't change it while driving, have to remember to change it back to C when I get in or when I park. So weird.
EDIT: Oh yeah and the lift gate thing.
