Replace side rear view mirror glass only?

I bought and installed new mirror caps on my car. In the process I accidentally cracked one of my mirrors during removal. I have no clue how it cracked since it gave with much much less effort than the driver side so maybe defective glass? Either way I ordered the new mirror and want to know how difficult it is to replace just the glass part of the mirror. I don't have the GT2's camera or autodimming. But the blind spot sensor is there. Do I need to take the whole assembly apart and will anything need calibrating? Also is this worth doing myself or should I bring it to the dealer and make it their problem? Mirror caps are on and I don't want to risk damaging the mirror more so warrantying it is out of the question.

That sucks sorry to hear that happened. That was my fear when doing my mirror caps.

I BELIEVE that it should be a plug and play type thing. You're ahead of the game somewhat since you have had the glass out already. So swapping it out shouldn't be an issue. Again just my opinion.
