So I got rear-ended. The other party is liable. It's about $8,000 of damage. Mostly all the plastics exploded. No metal damage. It did push my muffler into the tire . My sub frame washer is bent could me from the muffler hitting it. If I didn't have Megan racing arms, the rear tire probably would have folded there is a big scratch on one the rear arms. Car seems to drive fine. But I'm wondering if this will affect the vehicle at all. What do you think? if your mainframe isn't bent and suspension is unscathed everything should repair nicely. crash bars are there to prevent frame and suspension damage, crash bar can be straightened.

I sincerely doubt that bent washer will affect anything -

BUT

Why wouldn't the repair shop replace the bent washer to return the vehicle to its pre collision status?

Replace back to pre-loss for sure. Doubt it would matter but still. Sorry for the headache of going through that. Hope the rental is decent.

That flange (washer as you call it) took a pretty hard hit for it to be bent like that. The way that mount is designed, with the rubber bushing inside, provides some isolation between the subframe and the chassis, for NVH reduction. That bushing should be fairly robust and probably not tweaked too badly by the flange hit, but you never know. If this were my car, and the other party is at fault and picking up the tab for the repair, I would insist on that flange, the bolt, and the bushing be replaced.

Car needs a alignment check for sure, to see if anything else is tweaked out of spec. Those Megan arms might be tougher than stock links, but that just means the stress is transferred past them, possibly finding some other weak points. I would almost prefer have some sacrificial easy-to-replace linkage arms to take the beating, instead of more expensive, harder-to-replace parts.

I just got back from Discount Tire had my rear tire spun and it's bent pretty bad from the muffler impacting it. No exclusions on my insurance but I'm going through the other party so I hope it gets replaced $500 wheel, the repair shop when they tear down the car will document everything and replace it. Attached is a pic of a car that hit

That smooch graphics... would be so much funnier if it wasn't your prized Stinger they kissed.
