Rain Sensor Cover and Windshield replacement

Hello...

Any forum members here that have had their windshield replaced?

If so, did you ever have any issues afterwards with the plastic rain sensor cover, behind the rearview mirror?

I see the cover listed in the Kia parts catalogs, and it shows several tabs on the inside of the cover with part numbers...

I am not sure if the bracket tabs come on a new windshield or if the repair shop has to glue new ones on after a windshield replacement.

I am aksing because the cover fell down off the windshield and was hanging from the rearview mirror. I took the plastic cover off, and there were (2) bracket tabs laying in the cover. I can't tell if they were broken off from the install... or if the glue failed, now that we are having temps near 100 degrees.

I had my windshield replaced, a new cover wasn't on the parts invoice, and I didn't have any issues with it - sounds like they broke the tabs on removal, or re-install. I would talk to the glass shop, and get them to pay to have the dealer replace it.
