So just a general question, is the Racechip mostly utilized in Sport mode? Would it do anything in Eco and Comfort?
And it's advertised that you can see better fuel economy (up to 20%).....I know this is still new and not too many people have it, but would love to see real world observations. That alone would make this a meaningful purchase for me, as I won't be doing crazy accelerations on my weekday commutes to work.
The RaceChip works independently. It works in combination with all driving modes of your Stinger.
If you want to get better mpg, I suggest using the Eco or Comfort mode.
RaceChip increases the available torque, which allows for earlier gear changes, which leads to lower average rpm which leads to better mpg.
E.g. imagine you are driving in gear 5 and then the road goes slightly uphill. Your car needs to shift down to gear 4, because it does not have enough torque anymore.
With RaceChip however, you have enough torque for staying in gear 5 while driving slightly uphill.
What's the difference? In this example you'll drive e.g. at 2000 rpm in gear 5 while having 3000 or more rmp in gear 4. RPM is the frequency at which the cylinders are filled with fuel. The higher the rpm, the more fuel is used (=bad mpg).
This is valid for manual as well as automatic transmissions. Automatic transmissions upshift, when after changing the gear a minimum torque at a certain RPM is reached. In the Eco Mode and the Comfort mode your Stinger should shift earlier, which works great in combination with the torque increase by RaceChip. Also in Sports mode you can get better mpg, but not as much. In Sports mode your average rpm should be higher than in the other modes, which is bad for mpg, but good for acceleration.
Of course, this also depends on the driving style. If you drive more aggressive with the Racechip than before, you probably won't get better mpg. Some of our customers are reporting massive mpg improvements, others say it did not change...

Eco-Tuning for better MPG
If you want to measure your real mpg improvements I would not only look at the display in your car but actually measure it by looking at the miles driven and calculating it with the gas you are refueling. Why? The board computer is just calculating the mpg and thus is not always 100% accurate.
