So I've never used race fuel, but I'd like to test out Map 3 and Map 5 on my JB4.

Can you do a full tank of race fuel, or do you have to mix it with 93? There's a Sunoco near my home that has 110 octane on pump and multiple other blends in 5 gallon cans. Just wondering the process before I pull up at the pump and fill my whole tank.

Also, does it burn more efficiently or am I going to go through a tank of gas significantly more quickly? Driving dependent of course.

Mix is fine, but the stronger the mix the better the results will be. I'd shoot for at least a 50% mix for map5, and 75% mix for map7, to optimize power. 100 unleaded is fine, but MS109 and GT260+ are a little better.

Pretty confident Sunoco 110 is leaded. You will want to ensure whatever you get is unleaded, even though it will probably cost more and have lower octane than the leaded fuels they offer. Leaded fuels damage O2 sensors over time and clog catalytic converters. There should be little no difference in efficiency based on octane alone.

Thanks for the feedback...I’ll try it this weekend

Do I need to switch anything with my fuel system to run race fuel

Do you have a jb4 or other tuner? If you have a jb4, then you can run map 5 if it is mostly 100 octane race fuel. Without a tune, it is a waste of money. There is a station not far from the track I go to that sells 100 at $10/gal. I wouldn't put in a full tank of it though if you are just testing or going to the track. Get the fuel tank as close to empty as you can, and put in maybe 3-4 gallons, just what you need to run it at the track.

Yessir. I have everything hooked up I just put a 70-30 mix .. what’s the latest firmware on jB4 alpha v24 T2?

Hey I have 2019 stinger gt.
Is it safe to run 100 octane/ or 260gt plus alone. And what map? How much power can I make with that potentially?

Hks spark plugs, wagner competition intercooler, k&n typhoon intakes, dual oil catch can, resonator + muffler delete and pedal commander.

I have a similar question. Down in the desert they have pump 100 Race gas. It doesn’t say anywhere on thee that it is unleaded. This is an area near glamis dunes where there is a lot of high power off road cars. Just want to make sure I run unleaded? With that said can I run Map 3, 4 or 5 with that on a full tank? Please Explain as I get my JB4 in the GT2 next week.
Thanks

Speaking from personal experience, I tried 100 octane unleaded race gas mixed with 91 (best pump gas you can get in California, except for the handoff places that sell 100 for $10 a gallon.) on map 2 and was less than pleased with the results. I had some timing corrections in the jb4 logs that were higher than I liked.
I then tried mixing E85 to get E30 based on a couple other forum member suggestions running map 3, and man what a difference. This really woke the car up. My logs only show a few very small timing corrections.
I went from a best time of 13.2 in the 1/4 mile to 12.5@112.
Not to mention that E85 is way cheaper than race gas.
If what you see on the pump doesn’t say unleaded and is marketed for off-road, I would be leery. Leaded fuel will ruin your cats (if you still have them).

Yes still have my cats .. What ratio do you Use with E85? Two gallons to a tank of 91? Where do you get E85 in CA? Yeah if it doesn’t say 100 unleaded I am not touching it. Not worth the risk. If you do use 100 pump what ratio should I use ? 2 gallons to a full tank of 91? Thanks for the help

If mixing 100, it’s a simple ratio, if mixing 8 gal 91 and 8 gal 100 gives you the middle, about 95-96. 2gal 100 to 13 gal 91 will probably only get you 92-93.
For running e30, There are a number of e85 calculator apps you can get. I have the fuel-it flex fuel kit in my stinger that tells me the exact ethanol content. It also has a calculator, I put in the current e content, what my gas gauge reads, what the pump gas e content is (usually 10%), and what the flex fuel says on the pump. It tells you how much gas and how much e85 to put in to fill the tank and end up with e30.
I have been getting my gas at a chevron station on Zinfandel ave in rancho Cordova, the also have propel e85, so I just go from the gas pump to the e85 pump and do what the calculator says. So far it has been spot on, getting e29 or e30 according to the fuel-it readout.

Thanks man, That is very helpful. I am not sure where to get e85 down herre in SD. Will have to do some reSearch. I will pob go with the 100 obtain mix and mix it. If doing 50/50 mix at 96 octane what map you run

You can probably run map 3 with 96

So I have a gas station down the street from me that sells Sunco 110 race fuel ! Do you know if that is unleaded? If I was to mix that with 91 or 93 do you happen to know the blend ?

It would be best to ask them. Mixing is just a simple ratio. You can also find calculators on the web.

From my experience I run JB4 with VP racing fuel 101 on Map 5 full tank, it breaks pockets but it’s better then running e30 blend for me since Cali don’t have 93. Some times I run full tank of Sunoco 100 map 5 but I noticed VP is way better in pulls ect…. Ive tried E30 blend with 91 shell top gas and e85 with octane booster rock my head. But I don’t want to ruin the plugs as they do turn orange and bad with time. Map 5 race fuel is the best for me .

What 1/4 mile times do you get?
Where do you find vp gas? How much is it per gal?
