Question About PPF and Ceramic Coating

I am planning to put paint protection film on the front bumper, front of the hood and rocker panels of my Stinger. Will likely be Scotchguard Paint Protector Pro, which is advertised as having self-healing properties.

Also planning to do a full ceramic coating, probably with Gyeon Mohs.

So here is my question - on the parts where the protection film will be, should I:
a) do the ceramic coating before applying the film,
b) do the ceramic coating after applying the film, or
c) not do the ceramic coating at all (i.e., on the parts to be covered with film)?

What's making me wonder about this is the understanding that ceramic coating is very hard. So it seems (guessing here) that putting ceramic coating over the paint protection film might interfere with the self-healing aspect of the film.

The PPF won’t stick to your car panels that are ceramic coated.

but i would still do more research in it. probably in detailing forums where many detailing experts can help. its a big investment, wouldnt hurt get as many opinions as you can before deciding.

I asked my installer about this when I did it and he said not to put the ceramic over the film .Maybe just for the type we were using, but it made sense to me.

You want to have the film applied first, then apply the coating to all paint AND filmed areas. While the film is excellent at protecting the paint from chips and debris, it is still susceptible to staining from things like bug guts, bird bombs, tar, and tree sap, which is where coatings come in.

While I personally know some installers that have successfully applied the film over coatings, it's not recommenced by the film manufacture and it will likely result in lifting later down the road, possibly voiding the film warranty too.

Having just come from the Xpel training, they actually encouraged applying coatings on top of their film, which I've already been doing for about 8 years now.
