Question about a BOV

Do these cars come with some sort of blow off valve or components which performs a similar function? I imagine if there's a possibility of grenading the turbo by closing the throttle at high rpms, the mfg's would account for this, no?

Probably a recirc valve. BOVs are older tech.

Yeah, lots of people think they need a BOV to make “the sound”. When I put the short ram intake on the wrx it removed the intake silencing and it made “the sound” just fine. It’s the intake silencing, but with recirc valves also the fact that they don’t vent to atmosphere, only back in the intake. Aftermarket valves can dump pressure overboard like older BOVs that used to come on cars.

I actually bought this guy BOV a couple of months ago and they don't do anything performance-wise but man! the sound is way different compared to the stock BOV. I personally love the sound so it was 100% worth it in my opinion. These BOVs vents off into the atmosphere instead of being shot back into the intakes.

I just had a discussion with a neighbor re the wheels on his lexus IS 300. He didn't like their appearance. I told him unless he's going with forged wheels, it's a waste of money IMO.
