New Powerstop Z26 brake pads for the Brembos are marked "R" and "L" on the tabs. Is there a specific orientation for installation? Can't find any information.
The pads sit nearly vertical, so it's more Up and Down then Left and Right. Hmmm\

Thanks.

I don't think it matters, I would put the one with the metal wear squealer facing the outside of the wheel though.

You mean this?

You will like those pads.
Oh, I do. It's just I get this clunk noise when I change direction and first brake and I'm trying to eliminate any potential errors. For example, I pull into a parking spot. When I back out of the spot and brake, clunk. When I pull forward and brake, clunk. After that, nothing. I used the Powerstop backing plates, so now I'm mostly down to I should have used the OEM backing plates or I should have bled my brake system (which kinda seems obvious now...)

What is obvious now about bleeding the brakes? Did you get air in the system?

No need to bleed, if you didn't open the bleeders or mess with the lines you're good.

It's just the pads moving into place, I really wouldn't worry about it.

I've seen it recommended to bleed, but I didn't think I needed to when I replaced them. Didn't open the bleeders or overflow any fluid when I compressed the pistons.

It's just a weird thing to hear the clunk when braking, that first time. Oh well. They are great brakes though.

I get a little clunk as well. Didn't know if it was the pads or Eibachs. I had a mechanic install them, maybe they are a little off in size.

I didn't compare pads when I installed them, but the Powerstop clips are shorter. Maybe the new clips are allowing the pads to move...

I've been re using my pins and the clip, I just clean them with brake cleaner and a wire brush. I'm assuming the pins fit the pads, so if there's a bit of variation that would make sense. But I have the clunk when reversing as well. There's silver shims on the back of the pad that come off the OEM ones, did you transfer them to the new ones?

No, I used the complete Powerstop kit, clips, pins, plates and paste. Just kept the OEM parts for spares. I did take the plates off the OEM pads and kept them too.

What is the part number for your pads? I emailed them to ask about the clunk, and they just said that they do not make them for a 2021. Even though the brakes are the same

Did anyone of you guys ever figure out a solution to the clunk? I just had my Z26s installed and while the braking performance has been great, the sound has been driving me insane when doing 3 point turns. I used the Power Stop hardware too.

Nope... still driving with the clunk and no other issues...

the only "fix" is to replace the pads with better fitting pads - if the click when changing direction bothers you.
