The guys at HPF Australia really know how to quantify the gains of basic mods for the Stinger. They installed Intake, Catback Exhaust (even though you can see they also changed the downpipes with aftermarket and high flow cats) and a chip tune. They then went ahead and did separate dyno runs for EACH mod, to show power and torque gains.

so what does this translate into HP for each stage ?

Thanks , but what is the relationship of these results vs the stock posted 365 HP ?

Thanks so much for posting this! :)

The first thing you have to keep in mind is the dyno they used is a DynoDynamics those dynos tend to read lower, than the DynoJets. Hence the difference between the stock 365 Crank HP posted by KIA. This is wheel horsepower. Another thing to keep in mind is temperature and humidity when the tests were performed can affect the results.

This comparison, helps us quantify the gains of each mod, basically put an exact number on the power difference and also helps us identify from which mods the 3.3TT benefits the most from, so you can spend your money wisely.
Also if you guys looked at the intakes, that is a new design, one that places the filters at a more beneficial location and is shielded better than others, but still not a true CAI.

Like others have said this is "Wheel HP"(WHP) opposed to the "Crank HP"(BHP) Kia is quoting. Typically most cars will lose 15-20% power due to drive-line efficiency etc. So the baseline of 292(WHP) is actually exactly 20% loss of the 365(BHP) so that would mean the following should apply.
292(WHP)=365(BHP)
312(WHP)=390(BHP)!
316(WHP)=395(BHP)!!
348(WHP)=435(BHP)!!!
Those numbers are fantastic, but almost match so perfectly that I would think they are made up if the Dyno didnt prove them!;) Great info and thanks for posting.

Intake only was 220 kW.

CAI not really worth the time and money it seems.

If HP is all you're looking for then yes the intake is the least bang for the buck, and just get the chip. However the increase in throttle response, and the beautiful sound of the turbos makes it worth every penny!

Good test examples at different stages of performance upgrades, excellent insight of power gains through various stages

The real gains are after the turbos, yes. I hope the downpipe tuning gets figured out soon as I'd rather do both the downpipes and exhaust than one of the two at a time and have to go back.
