3.3TT Performance issues post modifications

Wanted to give what I hope is the final update on my performance issues post upgrades. While my car is getting everything put back on, the tuner also kept noticing the same issues. On top of that, he also saw that just after a few dyno pulls, the tank was down pretty low. So he put it on the rack and looked under the car. Apparently, once upon a time, I had bottomed out, likely exiting my previous home. In so doing, it had pinched the fuel line just barely and cause a pin prick hole that while stock was barely noticeable. With all the extra fuel requiring modifications, a small leak had appeared. $10 fix and it should be back to normal. The shop called me as soon as he spotted it because he knew we had been looking for where the problem was for months. Once I pick up the car next week, I will be happy to report how it performs with everything attached.
Did they ever show you where the line got pinched? I’m getting a gas smell if I shut the car down and then drive again within an hour or so.

They did not. Only suggestion I can make is follow your nose. If you smell it under the hood, look there, near or around where the hoses connect to anything like the fuel pump. If you don't, check tank or LPFP.

Did you ever get your car sorted/tuned for those pumps?

Thanks, I was asking because I suspect it’s in a sneaky out of view spot back towards the firewall. Going to pull the intake manifold to check the rails.

For me it was in the rear of the car not in the engine bay. Is your gas smell coming from under the hood you think?

Yeah, the ventilation system is picking it up occasionally and I can catch a slight whiff outside sometimes. Just changed out to a K&N cabin filter and it’s more noticeable now. Guess the OEM ones work better.

I’ve been rocked by a few potholes which is what caught my attention about your experience.

Before I bring it in to the dealer it would be ideal to have the issue pinned down to avoid the whole “we can’t replicate the issue” excuse.

do you have a catch can? I can smell fumes from my catch can (it's a cheap one from amazon, so it's not perfect) in the same scenario. Smells like oil.

So mine was also coming through the cabin as well. One time after I filled up I was driving on the highway with my wife and just all of a sudden we smelled it... and then it went away. Getting into the car and smelling it before I started the car was also annoying but I keep it in a garage so fumes are retained. Parking it on a decline really brought out the smell. See if you can do that either parking it nose down on a hill or ramps on the back tires. If that works in reproducing it you can give that tip to the dealer.

Curious if the car has had any further issues after fixing the fuel line? Quite a journey if that's all it was.
In addition to the crimp in the fuel line, they also replaced a bad fuel regulator. After all THAT, Christmas hit. My job is one where I am out of town for 3 weeks at a time and then with the holidays, I got to drive it maybe 3 times which included to and from the tuner shop. (the car is 2.5 years old and has less than 10k miles so yeah). When I DID drive it, it seems to pull nicely. I have misplaced my Draggy and cannot confirm with any hard numbers. The tuner has said when they put it on the dyno after the first pass tune, it was pushing over 400HP at the wheels with the JB4 disconnected, so I think the fuel issues are over. My hope is that next friday the 5th to take it to a strip and get some numbers. Not going to lie, I was getting frustrated to the point of wanting to sell the car and get a Carolla. I am glad I waited.
