Hi, has anyone else had an issue with the brackets coming free from the parcel shelf?

I removed it today to make some extra space in the boot and it pretty much just dropped off, I barely gave it a tug so god knows what Kia used to stick it on there.

If anyone has had this issue what did you use to stick it back on? Not sure what the best adhesive would be for plastic on felt.

I used Gorilla epoxy. Any two-part epoxy will work. Neither side has budged since. If you overfill your hatch below the cover it will stress the glue joints and break them. Even when the actual glue joint breaks, the hinge can be attached to the felt covering and is more secure than you'd think because it wiggles. The first hinge broke over an ice chest that was taller than the hinge sockets, and of course that was that. I glued it. Then a couple of years later the other side came loose as I just described. I kept expecting it to come completely off but it never did. I finally lost patience waiting in suspense and used a craft knife to cut the felt along the base of the hinge and remove it, so that I could epoxy it and make both sides match.

That can happen when there is cargo in your hatch area that poke up against that parcel shelf. And when you shut the rear hatch down, it hits on the now protruding parcel shelf. The result is the parcel shelf pivots on the cargo and tips the other end (where the hinges are) UP. The hatch is wayyy heavier and stronger than those hinges, so the hinges pop and break loose. You might not notice it right away, since the parcel shelf tends to sit back down on the hinges.

I broke 1 of mine 4 years ago. Been holding fine since I glued it back on with some marine goop.

I'm sure just about any decent adhesive will work easily for this repair.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I used two part epoxy. As @Volfy said, make sure nothing sits taller than the cover or else it will break the wheels off again.
