I posted about my issue with my paint on the DIY front badge removal section and just wanted to start a new thread about it. So basically I had my brother try and do the badge removal for me and while he was applying the heat I noticed immediately that my car paint started to have a strange wrinkle effect. I was wondering if there are anybody in this forum that specializes in paint correction or just any info that can help me with my issue. I will take it to my local paint shop to look at it tomorrow as well.

Here is a pic of the paint -IMG_20181214_133810.webp
Thanks.

The paint has lifted off the plastic, no fixing that. First rock strike will break the paint skin and it'll start to peel.

I hate to tell you this, but a repaint is the only way to truly fit it. A section of clear bra will be the only way to keep that paint from flaking, but still may crack under the clear bra.

Callum is 100% correct

Thanks for the response. I figured that was what I was going to have to do. I had 2 places look at it already and the first one said it may be able to be sanded and polished, but looks like the base coat was lifted as well.

Thanks again man.

Do you have the "paint rub" under your driver side headlight? If so, you may get lucky like I did. When I spotted it and complained to my dealer, they got a complete new bumper installed for me under warranty. When that was happening, I had the dealer install my "E" Badge instead of the factory Kia badge.

Not sure but I'll check. Thanks for that info, hopefully there might be. That sounds so bad saying that, Lmao.

It looks as though I may have some slight damage from rubbing on both sides actually.

Definitely rubbing. I'd bring that to them for sure.

Was the paint under your headlights worse than the photos I just posted?
