• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

My fellow Aussie Stinger owners,

I'm just curious what fuel economy other Aussie Stinger owners are getting and predominantly in what drive mode?

I'm getting around 12L per 100km mostly driving in Eco or Comfort.... but I could've sworn that for the first month or two of I was getting much better than this. It's not a big deal coz I love the car, but I'm just curious what other people are getting? I've got the JT CAI and Borla exhaust so maybe this has made the car more thirsty.

Fuel economy was not a consideration when i bought it. I will have a look today and get back to you tho.

I just checked & I’m averaging 12.5/100kms, my car is a daily driver I have already done 13,000kms, it takes me 20minutes to & from work in relatively light to medium traffic with few stops & starts.
I use only 98 fuel (Shell V-Power) & mostly drive in Comfort with the occasional switch to Sport, I never use Eco & I have no performance or exhaust mods.
Overall I am very happy with the fuel economy given the power output it gives & the weight of the car.

Thats about the same for me too except i only have 2500kms. 98 expensive but worth it

Mine's travelled 4,503km @ 12.3l/100km. Only using BP Premium 95. No performance mods, but have Bi-modal Exhaust (should make no difference). I'm probably in Comfort mode 75% of time otherwise Sport. Medium traffic flow with frequent stops, but also a lot of short trips. Consumption is about what I would expect.

10.3l per 100km/7500km 91 unleaded. BUT i drive it like the bank owns it. 95% comfort 5% smart. And its the 3.3 gt. Mainly freeway driving with cruise control on. Tyre pressures 38 front. 40 rear.

Hey old fella, we will ramp up that fuel consumption this arvo....lol.

Sorry boys I meant 91 that has 10% ethonol Or is that the same as e10

I normally put 95 but sometimes I go to the servo and they have run out
I think that's the same as e10. I was referring to 91 unleaded. I wouldn't use any ethanol blend.

I normally average 8.6l/100km as most of the time I am doing highway driving on Custom which is set up with the sports setup. I have installed the JT CAI and FMIC and drive like a numpty now just to hear the induction and BOV and averaging ~18 around town now...Oops!

Sorry I still won’t use it, 95 or above only for me.

I average about 9.3-10.5 when driving around the suburbs. I managed 6.2 when I drove to Canberra. I drive in comfort mode and put 91 unleaded in the car.

6.2 is amazing, best I got was a drive from home to Kiama & I got 7.7 & I thought that was great.
I’ve got to do a run to Canberra soon, I like it down there lots to see & most of its free.

Defintely don't put any E10 in the Stinger.

I average about 8.8L/100km I did a full tank in comfort for that average and managed 611km range with 54km in reserve. Did a tank on smart mode, avg 8.8L/100km got 645 range with 35km in reserve (first time I ever saw the fuel warning light). Just filled up yesterday after running a tank only on custom (sport trans/steering comfort suspension) avg 9.9L/100km got 550km range with 53km reserve (worst economy I’ve had so far). I only run Caltex Vortex 95 since I got the car. Got about 5600km on it now, no mods.

Most of my half hour drive to work is freeway driving (about 80%) the rest is suburban streets.

I’ve been tracking my fuel and how much it takes to fill as I believe the gauge is possibly faulty based on the amount I’m putting in it to fill up. Generally speaking I average mid to high 8’s which isn’t too bad. Every now and then I give it a squirt in sports mode which throws my economy out but it does feel good :D

Oh and I agree with the others. Don’t put e10 in your Stinger. Caltex e10 is 94 octane but I’d run 91 regular unleaded or catch the bus before I put e10 in it. I ran e10 in my old Commodore for a while back when it was 91 octane and it developed a bloody awful engine knock and used to shudder at times whilst idling at traffic lights. Gave up switched to vortex 95 and after a while the shudder and knock went away so anecdotally e10 is shit
