Installed injen intake this weekend
All seem to go fairly well but
After removing the OEM intake tube from driver's side turbo I found this smudge of oil on the bottom of the inlet
Is this normal or cause for concern? If the later, need to hit up my dealer before they try to blame anything on the new intake
I did have the oil change a couple days before removing the OEM intake, but nothing was loose such that I would not think any spilled oil woulda found its way in thereIMG_20200118_153754.webp

Do you have a catch can?

I assume it's from the crank case vapors. Like Rob mentioned, an oil catch can is able to filter that stuff out. Normally the valve cover on the driver's side bank has a vent that connects to that intake elbow, allowing oil vapors to enter that turbo inlet. What you're seeing is some pooling of said vapors, I would think that it's normal for people with stock intakes and without catch cans.

How is your oil level?

No catch can but that's been on my mind. One or two sufficient? Seems from reading on here one is good
Thanks for the info, did not think it was any catastrophe...Other than that one smidge everything was clean in good shape
Gonna check oil level as well
Usually do it after going to the ' oil change / car wash place ' but not this time
Prior oil changes at dealership to keep this 'warranth forever' but they are so $#@& ing slow and I figured if anything happened after I start modifying they will deny IMG_20200119_102558.webp claims anyhow
Off to freeze my butt off listening to the blow off valve n turbos with windows down OMW to work

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Quasi-normal: both my Stingers had a small dollop sitting there like your pic, maybe just a little less (going hard enough on the gas means the turbos actually suck that in, so I know you've been driving easy on it for awhile). After I cleaned out the inlet area and turbines with a little water/Dawn soap mix (5:1) while running/rev holding the car to clean out whatever oil has sprayed in, it never built up again, though. That's the strange part, lol

Have you swapped out your intake since then? It could be down to the stock intake causing more turbulence in that area and/or being restrictive enough to allow the oil vapors to build up in the elbow, then settle right there.

Just a guess. Who knows though. *Shrug*

Yea, of course I've swapped out the GTS' intake, lol... I think it's possibly lubricant or adhesives leftover from manufacturing that get "melted" down from the heat and start to seep, honestly...

EDIT: Typo.

Swapped out my OEM for a K&N CAI last week.

I had the exact same thing on the drivers side, clean on the passengers side.

I wouldn't know if its a problem or not. Maybe someone can tell us more

No catch cans, but maybe need some

A bit of oil there is normal, don't worry. I had the same thing when I installed my K&Ns. Oil catch can would help. I'm waiting to see once the Mishimoto catch can is off back-order. I don't want to order from the Stinger Store, pay and then not get it for like 3 months.

How many km/miles did you have on it at the time of the swap? I ask because I didn’t see any when I swapped out at about 2800k.

OIL IN A TURBO IS FINE THEY USE OIL TO LUBRICATE THE BEARING..AND THATS BUGGER ALL AMOUNT...

Got it
Thx for the info
Was not looking forward to explaining to the dealer how any issues arose right before taking it out of stock configuration
I'm sure they woulda claimed BS and tried to blame on the intake swap
